I'd also like to add Simmonds to that "group". He's looked strong on the puck, skating well and seems to really be taking the net-front presence role on the power-play by the reins. He's been very noticeable for the majority of his shifts. Maybe he won't surpass what he produced last season, but I think he could certainly maintain it and be considered at the top of the second-tier of power-forwards in the league behind guys like brown, backes, callahan etc.

And there we go, shot gone........ #$$@#$!

    Simmonds-Giroux-Read
With Hartnell out with injury, Brayden Schenn suspended and Danny Briere still out the Flyers have had to shuffle their lines. Read and Simmonds will get a chance to play with Giroux which definitely increases their fantasy value.

Good news for #Flyers fans, as Daniel Briere will be in the lineup tonight against the Florida Panthers.

Briere will play wing tonight ( wrist still bothers him on faceoffs) with Voracek and Couturier.

Homer says it's in Laughton's "best interest" to send him down. #Flyers

I agree with Homer on this one. Why burn a year of his contract when we're strong up the middle already, especially with Briere coming back? An extra year for a guy like Laughton helps everyone involved; Flyers don't have to worry bout re-signing him around the same time as a bunch of other younger guys and Laughton gets a little more seasoning time down in the OHL.

Whoa.... we really sucked today. The PP was atrocious. It also seemed like we lost every faceoff. We scored a fluke goal and that was as good as we got. Lindback did have to make a few saves, but he made them. The Flyers do not look like a playoff team right now.

I watched most of the game tonight and agree it was ugly for the Flyers. Yes, the Rangers are a very strong team, but Philly is supposed to be able to compete with them.

With the trading of JVR, losing Jagr to free agency and the injury to Hartnell, the Flyers depth is being tested big time. I think the loss of Hartnell is huge, more than most people think. He is to Giroux what St. Louis is to Stamkos - not the same type of player, but they are the key guys that enable Giroux and Stamkos to flourish.

The Flyer defence is not all that great either and then combine that with Bryzgalov's average to better than average at best goaltending (haha, kinda confusing with that statement!?) and you have a recipe for a very poor start.

No doubt. Been super impressed with him. Drafted him really early in my one year league and immediately asked myself why but he's been terrific. I only managed to watch the last 10 minutes or so of the game and wow he made some incredible saves on some good NYR opportunities that came about from sloppy play in front of him. It could have easily been 4-1 or 5-1 in the time that I was watching.
