Hey Oilers faithful, what's your take on Yakupov this year? The guy who owns him in my one-year league is super frustrated with him and wants to trade him but I don't wanna bother giving up assets if you guys don't think he's going to make much noise this year.

I wouldn't give up a lot to acquire him in one-year leagues. I don't think he is going to put up more than 50-55 pts this year.

That said, there is still potential for more, so I'd rather grab him than many other 50-55 pt players, so I guess it just depends on the cost to acquire him.

    1 pt/G or A, 2 pts/W, 1 pt/OTL, 1 pt/SO

    Bench: M. Rossi, C. Glass, M. Maccelli, M. Dumba, K. Shattenkirk, F. Andersen
Prospects of Note: L. Stankoven, J. Lekkerimaki, D. Yurov, B. Clarke

Thanks Seadawg... yeah I've got a possible trade in the works that would see me getting Stamkos and Yakupov for Ryan, Halak, and Brunner. lol kind of funny because i offered up those three for just stamkos yesterday but the guy is frustrated with Yakupov and just wants him off his squad or something lol.

Wow if you can make that happen that's a win for you, mostly for getting Stamkos. I agree with Seadawg I don't think you'll see amazing numbers from Yak this year but his breakout potential is always there, he just needs to make it click.

I was just talking to dyz and he think Yakupov could crack 60 points on the season. Hopefully he turns it around.

Yakupov is getting PP time, but only 3rd line on evens. Unless that changes he won't see the ice enough to crack 60 points.

He's been fighting it early on, so I doubt he does.

Budaj is tapped for the start, Habs win an easy road game 4-1.

Pretty much sums it up so far.

okay...I have to admit that even being an eternal optimist, this is getting hard to stomach. You can't win many games when you're averaging 5 goals against per game.

Even average goaltending this season and the Oilers are 3-2. Dubnyk looks a shadow of how he played last season. Gotta figure Mact is going to make a change there. Maybe trade? Not sure.

Leafs are a brutal team and the Oilers badly outplayed them.

Dubnyk must be feeling the pressure. A contract year and the chance to prove himself as their goalie for the future, and he's choking.

Dubnyk + for Miller. Do it MacT.

It's worth a try for Bryz.....guaranteed Labarbera gets the next start. This is Labarbera's chance to steal the job full-time.
