Lmao- his brother tweeted that?? Wow- thats funny...
I'm 90% positive we'll take Yakupov. But I'm 100% positive Tambellini is an idiot.
So...
I don't entirely remember because I was drunk... but I'm pretty sure he was tweeting about Drive or some movie like that and was saying that it was a piece of garbage and what not. And I tweeted him something along the lines of "I really enjoy reading your hockey-related tweets but when you talk about anything else you're a complete douche."

I really hope all these rumors about the Oilers taking Murray is just hype to get people to tune into the draft. It would be such a shame if they didn't take Yakupov with the first. Trading down and getting Murray + is a different story, but Murray at 1 is just not a good idea.
I'm getting nervous.

Oilers 1 - Blowhard Media - 0
Well Tambellini managed to pick the consensus BPA.
Couple thoughts, would have loved to see management more active:
1) Would have loved for EDM to trade in the 9-11 range and get Grigorenko.
2) Michalek/Visnovsky. For the price they commanded I would have LOVED to pick one of them up. Along with a potential Schultz signing it would make a huge difference on our blue line for a relatively cheap cost.
Smid-Petry
Michalek-Schultz
Schultz-Whitney
Or
Smid-Petry
Visnovsky-Schultz
Schultz-Whitney
Viz would have costed us a 2013 2nd. Michalek maybe Roy, 4th and random prospect?
3) I really hope we take Finn or Collberg with 32.
Anyone know anything about Moroz? I rely was hoping for Finn or Collberg...
From an article on Oilersnation:
"Big, edgy power forward plays an in-your-face style and looks to initiate hard contact all over the ice. A feared enforcer who picked up 20 fighting majors, yet skates and handles the puck well enough to take regular shifts. Coaches eventually rotated him into the top six to give scoring lines a boost – gives smaller, skilled linemates more room to work with his physicality. Has surprising offensive tools with a heavy snap shot. Puckhandling confidence is soaring and he’s willing to try things with the puck now he wouldn’t have dreamed of six months ago. Skating enables him to play in open ice and even has decent lateral agility. Spins off checks to find space and gets to open ice. Emerging force uses great size/strength to dominate below the circles and is impossible to move around crease. Development curve is heading straight up and has upside."
He played for the Oil Kings so I'm sure they have scouted him out quite a bit. He was lower ranked but Edmonton clearly chose him to fill an organizational need. They will be hoping he turns into a Lucic style player.
I don't actually mind the pick. They have some decently skilled prospects in the system, so they went with a big, physical player that will compliment our smaller guys, and if he has a little bit of skill that will help. I heard Stu McGregor was worried he wouldn't be around in the 3rd round so they grabbed him early.

Final Draft 2012 count: 2 defencemen and 5 forwards.
My take: Edmonton doesn't seem particularly concerned with restocking the back end, therefore it's reasonable to assume that there is a plan in place to address our back end through free agency and/or trade. This bodes well for Oiler fans who'd like to see Schultz play for Edmonton, as does Toronto's pick of Reilly 5th overall.
With their 2nd-7th round picks, Edmonton addressed the lack of size up front with a few 6'3" forwards. It will be interesting to see if one of them will pan out and be a Lucic-type presence for the Oil in the coming years.
