Meh, it's easier for a natural center to learn the defensive side of the game as a winger.

I take Stauffer's "comments" as that of a reporter. He's assuming this is what we will see at the start of the season so I take it with a grain of salt. If this was McLellan saying this, it would hold more weight with me.

It wont surprise me to see Jokinen start in the bottom six but I can also see him moving around a lot during the season.

RNH at RW is something I would love to see. Since he got to the Oilers they have been so short on Centres that its never really been an option. Now they might just have the flexibility to try it. The Oilers have a lot of guys who can play C/W which is a great thing because it creates flexibilty.

When making the lineup the #1 question is Draisaitl- RW1 or C2. Once that is answered a lot of other pieces fall into place. Personally I see Draisaitl starting the bulk of games next season at #2C- I believe that's the longterm plan. But if the team plays a bad 1st period, or is down late I can easily see the Maroon-McDavid-Draisaitl line getting assembled in game.

Where does everyone else see Draisaitl mainly playing next season?

Like you, I am hoping for Draisaitl at 2C. I think he can carry a line on his own and doesn't need McDavid to prove he can score. It also forces opposing teams to choose what line to check. If anything, this frees up Draisaitl for more offense as he wouldn't have to deal with the oppositions top checking line. You can bet they will be on the ice against McDavid as much as possible.

With every new contract handed out(J.Slavin today), the O.Klefbom deal looks better and better.

A.Larsson has the same deal for 4 more years too. Beautiful.

I honestly think it's having guys like them on discount contracts is going to save their bacon, cap wise, over the next 4+ years. Gotta find the value contracts somewhere, and locking in your core dmen on them is just great cap management.

I hope Edmonton wins like 8-5 tonight, with all 8 goals coming against that dumb f**k fourth line.

Opening day lineups mean nothing! McDavid and Dri will be back and forth in terms of lineups all year.
