Galchenyuk is suffering from the video game fails where you press the pass button and point in the right direction but the puck goes in the wrong direction straight to the other team. The struggle is real...

Hudon looked really great tonight. He seems to bring a lot of energy and creates some offence on every shift. A pretty quick release and he can get it off in stride well. If he keeps this up he’s probably on the third line with Plekanec and Lehkonen to start the season.

He's staying with the team, no way around that fact.

I've been a fantasy owner of Hudon's for a couple seasons in a deep league and I've always been thinking he should've been given a chance before now considering the stats he's put up in the AHL, his skillset as a slippery high-tempo player and the fact montreal is always struggling to score goals. Montreal management makes me wonder at times!

This game has about as much intensity as I do when I wake up in the morning. Hint: I am not a morning person.

I really don't like where this is heading for Scherbak...
There is still time for him to pan out I suppose, but you would think he would have made this difficult for Julien and the coaching staff.
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

I have been really critical of the Habs lately but I will admit that their forward group looks pretty good.
    Lines at practice today:

    Pacioretty-Drouin-Gallagher
    Hudon-Plekanec-Lekhonen
    Galchenyuk-Danault-Hemsky
    Byron-Mitchell-Shaw

    That's really good.

    Problem is the D..........

Hudon has been making it an easy decision to be the guy kept around. They should consider themselves incredibly lucky that McPhee had such a hard-on for defense he overlooked him for Vegas.

    As for Scherbak, http://lastwordonhockey.com/2017/09/...kita-scherbak/

"One thing to keep in mind about Scherbak is that he is still only 21. He also is a December baby so he only had a year of Junior before heading to the AHL at age 19. That is a big jump for any player. For Scherbak, a full-time role with the Canadiens seems to be out of reach. His game is not polished enough for a long run with the Habs. He needs to build off his strong finish and take a major role with the Rockets. He should be on the shortlist for Habs call-ups, especially if the team is looking for a short-term injection of skill. For this season, however, Scherbak should focus on dominating in the AHL."

    Hudon was the one
shining light in the Hamilton Bulldogs' piss poor final season. I thought he would've cracked the Habs' roster for sure the next year. That was 3 years ago, Scherbak will carve out his spot sooner or later.

It's way too early to panic or give up on Scherbak.

Anyone else worried about the Habs this season. I know it's just been preseason, but I'm mostly worried about how they've looked. They've been outscored 21-7 in five games and the defense has looked horrible.

I'm worried but not because of anything that's been happening during preseason. I've told people since July there's a real chance the Habs miss the playoffs this year.

Habs now 0-6 in preseason have been outscored 24-9 #HabsIO

If they don't have at least a decent start to the season the media is going to trainwreck for real.
