Ya I know! I was hoping that he would get that start. Coaches usually tend to put in the new guy in situations where they can thrive and build on... At this point, I don't know how long he will last in Pittsburgh since Murray is slated to be good to go soon.

I can't find the post about the rules if Condon were to be placed on waivers again and claimed by the Habs; can he be sent down?

Yes but I am wondering if he could be LA-bound. Friendlier on the cap for them.

Ya, that's true. Still no official time-frame on Quick's injury/recovery though. I heard if he opts for surgery, he could be back by the All-Star break. I'm thinking LA will need to land any tender they can get their hands on before their season turns into a Habs2015-16 nightmare repeat.

I think they'll give Budaj a chance before making any moves. He was excellent for them in the AHL last year.

But we know that won't end well and the time frame coincides with Matt Murray's eventual return. Just saying.

Then we'd never have gotten him off waivers from Calgary (and they'd never had gotten him in a trade with Buffalo)...
    On a fantasy hockey break.

Beaulieu (23) to 3rd pair and Emelin (30) to 1st pair is such a Therrien move...

That will last until our next loss..

Maybe trying to get his value up for a trade

That's not the coach's job. He's trying to win and he's under pressure to do it. He just can't help himself from juggling lines and favoring veterans.

It may not be the coach's job... but if your boss comes to you and says we have an interesting potential offer for Emelin... can you toss him out in favourable situations tonight and make him look good..... you are probably going to do it to a certain extent.

Then your boss says... oh by the way... if we move him... the piece we are getting back is ________. The coach will be like... okay I got to make him look good, cause that is exactly what we need.

The more you put Emelin out there the more likely he is to look bad so that logic doesn't really apply here.

More time to get out of position looking for big hits when they're not there...

Very true, very true.... haha. but in theory a player can be protected some and made to look a little bit better than he actually is. But then again... scouts are good at their job and should be able to pick this out.
