These are very optimistic! I hope you guys are right about your predictions...
Plekanec hit 60 last season and it was considered a success in the system of Therrien.
I will go with 25 goals - 22 assists - 47 points. A rebound, but not an over the board one.

Where do you see him slot in the line-up?
Personally, I don't see him fitting very well with DD and Patches... Unless Therrien breaks that duo up for good.
Maybe with Galchenyuk if they finally put him at centre.
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

I'm thinking Galchenyuk and Plekanec at first. I know Semin fits best on the RW but he has had success at LW.

He should also be given 1st PP duties as well, at least from the get-go.

Don't go too high making projections for Semin. He won't be in a position to post great numbers with prime ice time and opportunities.

Are you saying he will get the Rene Bourque ice-time experience?

i.e. Comes in with high expectations and is placed on the top 2 lines with pp time for several games. Then gets moved down a line or 2. Then enjoys the press box for some games. Then gets a shot to redeem himself in a bottom 6 role. Goes back to the press box and speaks his mind during interviews. Stays in the press box. Comes back and shows a few glimpses of hope during the playoffs. Habs not strong enough offensively so they are eliminated in the 2nd round. Semin not resigned.
    On to the next one...

I know Bourque got traded and stayed for a couple of seasons but that pretty much sums up his time with the Habs. Vanek would have been the same if he wasn't a FA.

Semin is better than Bourque but he didn't suddenly become a reliable well-rounded player. The issues are still there. The difference is that expectations are not high at all.

You just wait until the first preseason home game or season opener when they announce Semin's name as part of the starting roster. If that crowd's roar is not representative of high expectations, I don't know what is

Oh yeah that's definitely gonna happen. But that happens for just about everyone. The equipment staff gets a standing ovation on opening night.

no , but I'd like to catch a game there just to experience being in a 20+ k crowd of passionate hab fans .

had found some decent priced seats on stubhub a few weeks ago 240 'ish 10 rows up center ice --they are probably 350-400 now .

I should have bit , but the old lady wants new counter tops !

@JohnLuTSNMtl: #Habs Therrien on Galchenyuk at C: "Near the point (of placing him there)" but wants to put 27 in positions where he won't lose confidence.
@JohnLuTSNMtl: #Habs Therrien on how to motivate Alexander Semin: "It's not like the old days when it was 'my way or the highway'" 1/2
@JohnLuTSNMtl: 2/2 MT says keys to motivating Semin are communication, the athlete's own pride and peer pressure, citing how committed #Habs already are.

The media hasn't had anything to complain about since Gauthier was GM so now let's start asking every day about Galchenyuk's position. I'm sure it will be tracked very closely this year.
