I like Montreal getting Bryan Allen - more depth, size and grit. Prepping for a playoff run. Cap hits are close enough, but getting rid of Bourque's extra year is just a huge bonus.

Not sure Allen will be much more than a 7-8, providing injury depth etc. Getting out of Bork's last year was the motivation for this deal for sure.

There have to be more moves coming after two vet LWs were shown the door. Maybe not to be in the every-day lineup but as general depth...

Speculation that Beaulieu could be sent down with Weaver back and Allen possibly serving as #7. It makes sense as I didn't like the idea of Beaulieu playing 4th LW for a long stretch of time. I'm still curious if the team will try to get some additional forward depth or if all help is expected to come from Hamilton.

Seems like the team don't think Beaulieu or Tinordi are ready yet... I really wished one of them would've taken an other step into a regular spot this year.

I don't think that's entirely true. Injuries are going to happen obviously (sometimes season-ending) so both of them will be back up at some point. It gives the team more depth and more options. Even with Allen as #7 it is possible that Beaulieu or Tinordi would play ahead of him if they get called up.
