Here is an article that Bob's tweet spawned.

    http://www.habsaddict.com/2014/09/al...to-center.html

Potential line combos with Galchenyuk at center:
    Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Desharnais
    Sekac-Plekanec-Parenteau
    Bourque-Eller-Gallagher
    Prust-Malhotra-Weise
    Extras: Moen, Bournival
What do you guys think about that suggestion? It would be great for Gally but I don't see him be able to handle first line centre matchups.

As I wrote in another thread, everyone gets to wear an 'A' and everyone gets to play center!

As much as I hate Desharnais as 1st line C, I think he'd be more useless still as a winger.

I read that Dalton Thrower is not at camp. Is this true?
If so is it because of his ankle injury suffered this spring and should we be concernered about it?

I've heard nothing about this. I checked around, and found nothing. Is this breaking news or has it been floating around for a while?

They want Galchenyuk to practice at centre during camp because he will eventually play centre in the league and may sub this season when there are injuries. There is no immediate plan to move him to centre, though.

This article indicates that Thrower came to camp, but came carrying an injury.

Hopefully it's a small injury and not a major one or some kind of personal issue causing him to be inactive.

Sept. 11/2014- Pat Hickey, Montreal Gazette- Forty-four players were invited to the rookie camp, but three won’t be there because of injuries: forward Stefan Fournier and defencemen Nikolas Koberstein and Dalton Thrower.

I missed parts of the preseason game last night but from what I saw a few players in particular stood out. Most of the vets were kind of going through the paces (and rightfully so with the 700 players injured league-wide over the first few days of camp). So here goes:

Michael McCarron: Very involved physically and looks like he will have something to offer to the Habs one day. He was knocked out of the game but was rock solid for two periods with some solid hits and a couple scoring chances.

Jiri Sekac: The commentators made a good point in mentioning Sekac's experience (including conditioning, etc) in the KHL as being an asset over guys like Andrighetto and other younger prospects.

Drayson Bowman: Looks like he could be a nice fit as a fourth-line energy/PK guy this year or 13th forward. Good energy and showed some of the talent that made him a top prospect once upon a time.

Christian Thomas: Good nose for the net which rewarded him with a goal and a sweet pass to Bowman for the game-winner. Lots of Gallagher in this guy.

Meanwhile Tinordi had a few hits but needs to play better with the puck.

A couple of weeks old, but here's a nice update on Tim Bozon, the Habs prospect who had meningitis about six months ago.

Bozon is definitely a welcome addition in Hamilton. They need the scoring. Hopefully it can help get some more players ready for the big jump.

Nice breakdown of the group breakdown at Habs' camp. Basically states which guys are in the mix and which ones are on the outs:
