Overall, a classic preseason game. No rhythm, lots of mistake, no cohesion. The Habs were probably going with the minimum of players with NHL experience.

Among the guys with NHL experience, Gallagher, Galchenyuk, Eller and Diaz had good games. Drewiskie was horrible... looked like a pylon out there. If he needs to dress because of injuries, the Habs will be in trouble this season.

McCarron was surprisingly good... so was Bournival, and Pateryn. Tinordi was OK, but maybe I was expecting a little too much from him.

Reway will be an exciting player to watch, but he will have to bulk up if he wants to survive. Collberg showed flashes of his tantalizing talent.

Kaleta is a jerk... droppping the gloves to hit Galchenyuk after a solid, legal hit shoulder to shoulder. Then flops like Bambi when Prust want to challenge him on the faceoff.

I missed the first period, so I can only comment on everything after (and had the game on mute, so I couldn't tell who was doing what at times).

Budaj didn't look good at all. Fucale was good though.

Agree about Drewskie. He was brutal, and got hammered in his fight. That's not the type of toughness we need.

Drewiske isn't a fighter. If he sucks on D then that's where the problem lies.

Then there is a problem. His fight wasn't good, but it wasn't the worst highlight of his game, far from it.

I caught parts of the Habs' game tonight. I won't be doing much analysis because I'm doing other things. I am doing a favor for a deck contractor by drawing what my deck will look like for the purpose of getting a permit 10 days sooner.

Habs had some strong moments but the territorial game was not good at all. The offense was too sporadic and it was too easy to get access to the Habs' blueline.

Charles Hudon: Not great, but he showed something. He has an extra gear (not necessarily skating-wise, but as a player overall) that makes him get ahead.

    Louis Leblanc: Invisible.

Daniel Briere: Good hands and smarts when he has the puck.

PK Subban: Good at times but coughed the puck a few times. Let's call it rust.

Jerred Tinordi: I like his game. He skates well for a big man too.

David Desharnais: Looked too much like he did post-contract last year. Again, let's call it rust.

    That's all for now...

    More on Leblanc:

    http://www.hockeyinsideout.com/news/...ncs-agent-says

I don't see why it's a big deal but it's definitely a talking point. His play has not justified a promotion to the NHL. The good news is that he still has time to work things out and if he puts it all together then the lack of NHL-ready forwards in the organization will give him some favorable opportunities.
