Murray is a little better than Parros, but Parros has the 'stauce. I had read that Murray was being sought by Vancouver, wonder what happened there. You'll enjoy some good hits from Murray and he'll sacrifice himself as much as he can. He's a good leader too. Good for younger guys coming up to get some Cornell University knowledge to rub off on them.

I'm barely aware when prospects do play vs other teams. Any insight on what does go on would be cool to see.

Looking for some info on Markov.
Will he be on the #1 PP this year and top line with Subban again?

How long do you think he is effective for?

He will be on the top PP unit with Subban. It works so why break it?

He was injury prone before the knee problems so I think he will miss some time again. Maybe knee-related, maybe not. One thing to consider is that last year he was flying to start the year and slowed down as the season wore on. It might not be as apparent this year with Murray brought in to beef up the PK (fewer overall minutes for Markov) but this is also 82 games instead of 48.

He is still an awesome player, just not at the defensive end anymore.

One thing to remember about last year is he also played 21 games in the KHL during the lockout. So that's about a 70-game season all-told. He hasn't played that many since the 08-09 season.

I think he'll have more stamina this year, and the Have will do a better job managing his minutes and giving him games off so he doesn't wear down as much at the end of the season.

    1) He will be on 1st PP with Subban
    2) Markov didn't play a lot with Subban last year at ES.
    3) I think he will play with Tinordi if he's in Mtl or Murray maybe to start the season. Emelin will be his regular partner when he comes back.
    4) I think he will do fine. I can see 50 really attainable for him.
Keeper league (12 teams) - keep 6 (+ NHL team is auto keep)

    Goalies: win (2), otl/sol (1), shutout (2)
    Team: win (2), otl/sol (1)
Only 2 FA pickups for the season (remaining: 0)

    [F] Panarin, Pettersson, Bedard

Yikes, I hope not. An already slow Markov with an even slower Murray? Not the best recipe on the defense I think.

I'd rather see Markov play with Diaz until Emelin comes back. He's faster and positionally sound. Or at least he was until his injury last year.

I could even see Markov paired with Subban to start. Either way, as long as it's sheltered and not part of tough defensive minutes. His legs are shaky but his stickhandling and passing are still top notch.

Subban-Markov could happen as well but I'd rather see Subban-Gorges, Diaz-Markov and Murray-Bouillon/Drewiskie pairings. Who knows what'll happen at the camp though. I surely hope Tinordi can crack the lineup and force either Diaz/Bouillon/Drewiskie/Murray out.

I'm thinking Drewiske will be waived/demoted if the team is fully healthy at any point. It still helps having an experienced guy on a one-way deal (good salary even if demoted) who can be called up anytime.

Once Emelin is healthy, if everyone one else is still standing, I agree that Drewiskie will have to be waived. Odds of that happening are slim though. Hopefully it will.

Offensively, things are more interesting with injuries to Gionta and Parros who might not open the season in the lineup. If that's the case, it leaves a couple spots open. I believe the top 9 in the lineup (without Gionta) would go like this (lines not really important):

    Pacioretty-Desharnais-Gallagher
    Bourque-Plekanec-Brière
    Galchenyuk-Eller-Prust

For the 4th line, I guess Moen will have to be in the lineup unless he has a horrendous camp. White and Dumont are the next best guesses but a guy like Bournival or Leblanc, with a good camp, could force their way unto the team. Bournival would fit well in a 4th line role while Leblanc could be valuable fill-in on a scoring line if necessary.

    In goal...well, Price-Budaj, I guess.

The Habs don't have much in terms of NHL-ready guys down in Hamilton. That's why I wasn't happy that they didn't target a few college forwards. It would not be great but I think it would be better than depending on Leblanc after his disastrous season.

Meh, who was really interesting and would be able step in and make the NHL?

I'd rather give another shot at Leblanc who had an abysmal season last year but had injuries and a string of bad luck and was actually pretty decent during the 2011-2012 season playing with a very bad team. I believe that, with a good camp, he would earn that final chance.

    Nice to finally talk NHL.
