Glad to see Ryder back because Moen is not well suited to move up to the skill lines.

    - Ryder is back tonight and will play on the PP with Pleks and Gionta

    - Armstrong will be on a line with Eller and Galchenyuk, while Dumont will center the 4th line

    - Bourque was back at practice, wearing a no-contact jersey. He might participate in a full practice before the team leaves for Long Island

Here's a good article about how the team won't take away ice time from Galchenyuk despite his slump.

Default Sabres 3, Canadiens 2 (OT)

Theme of the game: Inventing a penalty. PK Subban was called for high sticking as part of an attempted open-ice hit in overtime. The replay on TSN showed that the stick did not make contact with the head so it was essentially a phantom call. The Sabres scored on the power play to end the game.

Player of the game: Brendan Gallagher. Not even close. The first goal was caused almost entirely by his effort forechecking and cycling the puck. He was involved in several other chances as well.

Goaltending: Carey Price 18/21 (.857). Not enough shots to pad his save percentage unfortunately. The goals were all high-quality chances. You still want him to go above and beyond to turn at least one of them away. He should be more of a difference maker.

That's it for now. I have to do the Quick Hits article for Studs and Duds over at Fantrax. Should be up mid-day tomorrow.

Just to clarify about Subban's penalty, it was a terrible read on his part to go for the big hit in a 4-on-4 situation. He put himself in that situation and the stick should not have been near the guy's head. It was a bad call but one that was made possible by a bad play.

The Habs were lucky to get a point out of this one. A brutal first, and the second wasn't great either, even though the shot count that period looked like we dominated.

It seemed as if the sabres had the Canadiens figured out, as every backwards pass was intercepted, it felt like. Do the Habs do this a lot, and the Sabres pounced on it?

Bouillon signed a new deal, identical to the one he signed last summer. 1 year/1.5M

    http://www.rds.ca/hockey/canadiens/u...illon-1.599555

I like this a lot. Boullon has been steady this year, and he is at worst an excellent insurance policy, at best a reliable bottom pairing Dman.

It also gives time to the young guys to develop properly.

Every team needs a couple guys like him so I'm glad they kept him. It's cheap, and with a short commitment it gives the team a ton of options.

Sportsnet magazine came out with a list of the top uniforms of all time. The Habs took first spot. I this k the Yankees were second.

It's not a flashy jersey but very distinctive. If you see the logo you know exactly what it means. Now to take care of the cup drought...

He is cleared for contact. I wouldn't bet on tonight but if he is as close as it appears then I think Saturday is more likely. Not much is being said about it though so who knows.

Therrien declared today that he won't play tonight, but that he will be evaluated by the medical team before Saturday's game, and that there is a possibility that he will play on that night.

Awesome guys. Thanks for the update. That's helpful for me, fantasy wise and also as a Habs follower.

Sounds like I should be the team doctor!
