Yes he does... But Gionta is not helping, and Prust has limited offensive instincts.

The team has depth so Plek/Prust/Gionta is basically a two-way tough assignment line.

Exactly... Which explains why the oroduction has slowed. Plus, the opposing teams focused more on him after the first ten games because his line was the best of the team.

    So:

    - Desharnais 7 points in his last 7 games, and he's winning a ton of faceoffs
    - Pacioretty 6 goals and 10 points over the same stretch.

Nice to have Gallagher back with them tonight, that line is sticking now with Cole gone.

I was a skeptic re Gallagher due to his small size. But he's proving me wrong. Love what he brings to the table.

Boy, that was a real dull game.Am I the only one that thinks that? Leafs can't pass at all, or shoot apparently. Canadiens play some boring hockey imo.

And people got on my case when i said they should release him after this season..... stupid Leaf fans.

Habs got the breaks for sure. 2 goals one off bozak the other Scrivens deflects off Pax. And One of them scored on a questionable boarding major on Brown.
Then Bozak gets burned on Faceoff(Senior official later says it shouldve been blown dead).

But ahhhhhh excuse my exhale....If you play crap you lose.

Congrats habs you deserved this victory!!!!

    1) People are entitled to their opinion but I hate that play where the dman gets bumped going back for the puck.
    2) The linesman was channeling his inner-Grabovski and completely fumbled the puck on the third goal.
    3) Stop complaining there was plenty of crap that should have been called the other way, especially early.

When you outshoot the other team 2-1, and dominate puck possession chances are you'll catch a break or two. Also helps when the goalie can't control rebounds.

Default Canadiens 5, Maple Leafs 2

Theme of the game: the grown-ups showed up to play hockey. The Leafs came out trying to hit everything including heads and the back of legs. It was only a few things by the usual culprits so I won't paint the whole team as bad guys. But the Leafs as a whole were not really focused on playing hockey tonight. The Habs were by far the superior team and only Scrivens could keep it competitive.

Player of the game: Max Pacioretty. No biting jokes here. I am above that. He scored two goals though including the one that put the game away late in the third period. He added seven shots and finished plus-2.

Goaltending: Carey Price 21/23 (.913). Honestly I did not think he had a great game. He looked rusty after long stretches with no shots and had trouble with rebounds all night. The end result works for me though. He also stopped a penalty shot by Mikhail Grabovski where he did not "bite" on the fake (sorry couldn't help myself).

The unsung hero to me is Josh Gorges who played a gutsy game including taking that hit to the boards in the first. He does so much for the team that never gets recognized. He did appear on the score sheet with an assist on the game-winning goal.

Brendan Gallagher also had an excellent game. He is all over the place and has a good scoring touch.

PK Subban had an assist but needs to do a better job holding his ground defensively. Obviously there are hits coming but he still has to make plays and play his position.

Andrei Markov also looked great. He played 25 minutes and had an assist.

A lot of people don't know this but Alexei Emelin has a bomb of a shot. He just doesn't have the offensive hockey sense to get in position to use it often.

Tomas Kaberle played his first game since Christopher Columbus crossed the pond yet did not look bad at all. He was not great but was not completely exposed either.

Not complaining just exhaling. As I said the better team won.
