Yes I watched the game. But I want to see that combo with Galchenyuk as the center....

For fun: What is your personal criteria of what the Habs need as their #1 center that they've coveted for what seems like the past century? Does he have to be a certain size?

I don't see any size requirement. I also don't really care about face offs. I look at the guys like Crosby, Tavares, Malkin...just good with the puck, elite skill, high IQ and great vision. That's what I want in a #1 center. So does everyone I guess.

This, along with the puck-moving, right shot dman, are currently the most sought after players in the league. It's really telling just how much the game has sped up that you only hear about these types, and not really power forwards or size/truculence types any more.

Strong on the puck, smart and takes over games by making dynamic plays that create opportunities. Shit, even a smaller centre in Saku Koivu did that. It would be weird to just ask for a talented centre, but that's what they need.

A centre who plays as good on offense as on defence and who drives the play. We haven't had a centre that could do that since Saku. We had some wingers... but not a centre.

But then how would the new Gal/De la/Drou line get their three goals? That's not going to work.

Bold prediction, or pipe dream? That realistically would be exactly what the team needs though. Just something to shake some confidence into that locker room. That way they can create enough of a conversation for one of them to get traded. Goodness knows something's gotta give with their lineup, and I can only assume there's considerable pressure on GMMB to make a move to try to rebuild some fan excitement.

F’ing Habs. This is quite possibly the worst group of “NHL” centers I’ve ever seen gathered on a single team - and that includes Shaw and Danault. If Bergevin keeps his job for next season then this team is screwed until Molson sells it.
