I have no idea what he's asking for or for how long. But I Price would get $10 million a year on the open market. Vancouver, I think, would make a push him hard and they should have a ton of cap room next summer. And Price is from B.C. I think his wife is as well. That could play a huge role.

So the offer has to be close really high but still hope Price will accept a small home-team discount. I think they'll do a deal where he has a season or two where he is paid $10 million so he can be the first $10-million goalie in NHL history, and then the salary will come down a bit. I think he'll get slightly more than Lundqvist (the current highest-paid goalie at $8.5 million).

Maybe something like seven years at $63 million. Comes up to $9 million a year average.

I would give Price the keys to the Bell Centre. I also am not sure he actually wants to stay. I wouldn't. I would ask for Nashville or Calgary if I was him.

Wondering... if McDavid signs for 13.25m per season... Should Mtl make an offer sheet to Draisaitl? Mtl can't develop 1st rounders anyway.. so why not just send them to Edm for a #1C?

McGwire' been busy today making the comment Draisaitl would get an offer sheet if McD gets that much. If so, why not the Habs?

I dont understand why there isn't more chatter about Hanzal to MTL. He may not be a top #1 C but he can do a decent job of it, brings size and plays a sound defensive game. Hanzal-Danault-Pleks-JDLR may not be top flight, but it'd be halfway decent. And if Galch or Drouin is eventually moved to 1C, then it starts looking pretty good.

I'd be fine with Hanzal. They'll probably have to give too much term and they would get hosed in the final years but that comes with the territory when going the UFA route.
