Indeed. The ability to properly develop young players, particualrly forwards, is a serious problem. Sergachev must thank the old gods and the new every day that he was traded to Tampa.

Not sure why Daniel Carr keeps getting scratched. He showed some promise and should receive the same opportunity to bounce back from production-less games as the team's vets. Team needs offense and he has provided some.

Anyone notice Pacioretty has started hitting like crazy? He’s got 26 hits in his last 6 games. Where was this energy level earlier this season?

Going into the break Weber, Shaw, and Danault are all still not skating.

How about Pacioretty for R Johansen straight up?

You guys need Tavares so badly, but too bad he's not French speaking. Im still waiitng for Price to come around - its hardtop tell how bad MTL when so many goals are going in on the superstar. Im poining the finger Price for last night - I dont care if shots are tipped if you let In so many goals, and the UNtimely manner in which you give them up must deflate the teammates - mtl comes abckfr 2-0, 4-2, etc and each time Price cant make big save - even tablot came through last night and Leaf backup stood on his head. Price is on my bench unless I need to increase my SA count.

I was reading posts elsewhere, people saying Price is most overrated pro athlete in the world - perhaps true?

Nobody cares if a player speaks French. They like having franophone players, but it's nowhere near the issue it seems to be for the GM or coach. As far as Price goes...this is how he got Therrien fired so maybe he doesn't like the coach...

Can they afford both Bailey & JT ? Now that would really speed up the rebuild.

Or instead would Doughty go there?

I think Doughty wants to get another realistic shot at the cup...so....

I'd love to see Doughty in Montreal but I really don't think that's going to happen.

He doesn’t look out of place on that Drouin/Galchenyuk line. He can skate well and is a hard hitter and net front sort of player. Julien certainly likes him. He’s still young and he’s versatile. I’d say he will be around for a while.

He's a UFA this summer. He can turn this into a solid contract if he waits to the summer to sign.

Those are 2 of most important people in the franchise, so while most fans may not care, the management does. It seems like management is looking for a guy like a better and/or more proven version of Couturier: defensibly responsible, can score, speaks French. That's got to be a short list.
