As a Flames fan originally from Ottawa, this would definitely lessen my pain of him signing in Pittsburgh.

With Alfredsson here, I would've said no way. Now that Alfie is gone, Iginla might be the only thing to keep 1/8th of the season ticket holders that are about to cancel their seats. Iginla is done as a player, but that doesn't matter to some fans.

    No joke.

I'd use the word fan loosely in this situation though..

How is a 60 point player (a total he has outproduced for over a decade now - but let's give an extremely conservative estimate) "done"? Iginla has TONS in the tank.

There you have it. Alfie just said this was all his decision and his decision based on trying to win a Cup.

Nothing to do with Ottawa not offering him what he wanted. He feels Ottawa can win a Cup, but his time is running out and Detroit is closer.

Who wants to bet that the Sens make it further than Detroit next season?

I know where they both finished this year and I know a lot of people may think they will finish higher than the Wings next year. But its tough to bet against the Wings.....thats one seasoned and well oiled machine.
