You will have forgotten all about my declaration by that time, so it doesn't matter.

Mark Stone - tell me more...

I recently landed him in a deal as a throw in. I know very little about him and how his game will translate in the NHL. What's his upside. Does the recent draft pick of Lazar affect his stock in any way?

Thanks to all the Sens fans who can share knowledge on this guy.

Not sure how deep your league is but if you got Stone as a throw in, that's good. The Sens brass like Stone on a line beside Spezza, that's a fact. He had an inconsistant year in the AHL last season, and missed some time due to injury.

Some forums/fans are always throwing Stone in a package deal to land Bobby Ryan, Nash, Bogosian and any other pipe dreams they have - maybe there is a link as to why you received him as a throw in as well. In reality (mine and hopefully Sens staff), Stone is going to be given the time most prospects need to find their way and place in the NHL for the Sens. For a big body, Stone isn't and won't be a power forward. He is just a big body with a nose for the net, great release, shot and sees the game well. He is a scoring forward on the top two lines. Lazar in no way affects Stone at this point.

Stone is also is still recovering from a high ankle sprain from the playoffs and hasn"t been able to skate yet this offseason, but he will see more NHL games this season. How many? Not sure, it's a deep prospect pool in Ottawa.

Anyway, hope this was what you were looking for. Cheers

Wait...what? Bickell re upped with Chicago??? I thought he was coming to play on Ottawa's 4th line? Must be a sign and trade? No? I guess we will just have to settle for Hemsky, Briere, Neal, Ryan, Letang AND Bogosian.

Ottawa, the prefered destination for all things NHL.

    Haha.

Friedman's latest 30 thoughts claims there are "problems" between Ottawa and Alfredsson. Can anyone shed light on this?

he didn't say there were any problems, he questioned whether there are any. The only problem would be Alfie is asking for too much money...he'll come down in the end.

Nothing to see here. A deal will get done and as I metioned before, it might just be a two-year pact in the end. Everyone knows a deal will get finalized between the two parties and just because the contract wasn't signed after each others first offers, that is the reason for these "problems" per se.
