i still think the Isles can troll the Pens, so let's wait a bit before analyzing this series

I've been following this team since the nineties, so it still seems weird to see resounding playoff success. I can't recall ever seeing the Senators physically respond the way they did in game 3. This is a great team. Maclean has been a godsend.

Go Leafs...I want to see a Sens-Leafs series..

    Hmm.. interesting..

I hope they don't put him in too early though.. Only if they are down in a series and need that series changing swing.. Otherwise I'd be wary of messing with chemistry and what-not..

I understand the chemistry fear, but that kind of stuff doesn't apply to an elite PPG player like Spezza. He is by far the best forward on the team, and he gets paid 8 mil. As soon as he is able, he'll be in the line-up.

Interesting comments from Maclean about Karlsson, also reported by Don Brennan: http://www.ottawasun.com/2013/05/15/...ot-in-top-form

It's true that in the last game you could see Karlsson struggling here and there, didn't have that patented blazing speed to get back into the play on the Dupuis steal, for example. Fact that he nonetheless has 6 pts in 6 games is so telling, doing that despite being far from 100%.

As a fantasy owner, I'm chalking it up to a very early return from a serious injury, and assuming he'll be back to being "arguably the best player in the league" come September.

He hasn't been as bad as Gonchar and Cowen. I was such a huge Cowen fan until this series. He single-handedly cost them 2 goals in game 1, and one so far tonight.

Tough for Cowen. He'll be much better with a full offseason of rehab and an 82 game season coming up. But he could be on the block if they want that legit winger.

Great ****ing year. They lost the last two series to the #1 seeds. Nothing to be ashamed of.

This team will be landing a top winger without a doubt. Skinner, Vanek, Eriksson, Ryan, Marleau...options.

So, when Alfredsson retires (this year or next), who gets the C?

Spezza for sure I'd say. Phillips, Neil with the A's, then Methot and Karlsson one day.

As an aside, I think Ottawa deals their 1st rounder for some help now. They don't need any more prospects, and they can capitalize on the fact that people think this draft is deeper than others.
