Maybe they want him to fill in for Chris Kelly.

Boston is where Ottawa hockey guys go for a second chance. Chiarelli, Chara, Kelly, now Daugavins...

Bottom line, he is a 13th forward, good at his role, but so many others are a bit better with more skill.

I like him, team guy, but maybe the all-for-team thing is starting to fade. I don't expect him to be picked up by another NHL club and not even sure what his mindset is on reporting to Bingo, or Murray's feeling either.

What do you Sens fans think of Latendresse?

I have him filling a spot on my roster at the moment but haven't been able to see him play... can I count on him to put up a 0.5ppg+? or what should my expectations of him be?

that would be a reasonable expectation...hes a big body to get in front of the net, but seems to be quite prone to injury.

He's a streaky player so when he's hot, I think he's a very valuable player. But he can get cold for long stretches so it can be rough to own him as well.

I guess it depends what kind of league you are in. If it's the league in your sig, I can see him be used once he gets on a hot streak.

really not a fan. he just doesn't seem to have the legs. don't see him in a prominent role when Spezza and Michalek return.

watching SportsCentre this morning and Paul Macleans press conference regarding Anderson (et al) and a comment gave me mixed emotions (paraphrased but this is the general jist)
"i dont know if there is any trade that would net us a return as well as these guys coming back to the roster, we may not have to make any moves at the deadline.."

emotion 1 "fkn sweeeet...i cant wait for a full roster again!!"

emotion 2 "no moves at the deadline? WTF?"

are they really set-up that well that they can afford to do nothing before the deadline to make a serious push in the playoffs? maybe its just me but the defensive core is good, but not great, the 3-4th liners, again solid, but not great...goaltending well thats awesome no changes req'd..

anybody else with the same sentiments?

    Jeez Lundqvist, stop that!

Finny: I know you're probably supposed to go for the win every year, but I for one don't want them trading any serious assets for a rental. I disliked the Bondra trade years back and I don't want to see that again. The team is playing over their heads already...I say keep riding that momentum.

It's surprising the Sens are competing for playoff spot with their current team. We are possibly getting Spezza, Cowan, Anderson back - that tops the Iginla/Morrow/Murray acquisitions by the Pens, without giving anything up.

Who else of impact could we acquire in a deal?

Derek Roy (UFA) we could sign for free in offseason without giving up assets.

Bobby Ryan - ducks less likely to trade with the playoffs upcoming, would require giving up Turris, Zibinejad/Silfverberg.

Dan Boyle - another Ottawa native, but getting up in years. Though would be nice replacement for Gonchar next year. The veteran 3rd dman pairing (Whitney) guys won't make much difference compared with getting back Cowan.

Only expendable asset is Bishop if Anderson comes back.

Any playoffs this year is gravy. Dont want to mess with team chemistry and trade young assets for temporary guys.. sens are a tough team to play against. but still hard to match up with Pens/Bruins overall in a 7 gamer.

I don't think they NEED to add anybody, but I would not be against trading any current prospect (MAYBE not Noesen) they have if they acquired somebody who would be here for this season and one or more seasons after (i.e. not a UFA).

When this team is fully healthy, next year, they can beat any team in the league. That includes the Pens. They can at least compete with anybody right now though.

As we saw from the pathetic Rangers, having stars in your lineup doesn't mean a heck of a lot.
