Great news. Gord Miller and Chris Cuthbert will be the play-by-play guys and Ray Ferraro and Jamie McLennan are the colour and analysts for Sens games on TSN.

Melnyk making an announcement tomorrow with municipal, provincial and federal government in attendance. This won't be directly related to the Sens but may help if it puts more money in Eugene's pocket.

Could be so many things that would benefit some of Melnyk's agendas. From development around the arena, to his long sought after casino; light rail transit; new business venture; another charity initiative; anything. Hockey won't be part of it in my opinion. At least from the front door hockey won't be the main topic.

I think it will be nothing hockey related. Three levels of government will be on hand and two of those levels probably don't even know there is another hockey team in Ontario not named the Maple Leafs.

Canada's 150th BDay is coming up in 2017, it wouldn't shock me if it revolved around that. Yippee Canada, but give me some Sens news.

Melnyk announces they have reached the 100 million dollar mark when it comes to donations to the Sens Foundation. The foundation is very active in helping the community.

    Well done.

    Got 10 minutes?

I like this interview from Karlsson. His first since coming back to Ottawa to prepare for the upcoming season. Broad range of questions from his health, to Spezza, to the vacant captaincy, to the team going forward and what happened last season.

Based on his career stats and his age, it looks like it's going to be hard for him not to take a step back. Hopefully it works out though!

I may have over-stated. He's allowed 1/3 stride back per year as long as one of these years he takes a full stride forward again.

Well, based on his high shooting percentage this past season you would think he's headed for a bit of regression this year. And a career high of 62 points isn't encouraging given he's 29 and passing what are typically the prime years of a career. But he'll likely get more minutes given all the youth and lack of depth right now, so he might be able to maintain that production for two years or so. After that I don't think it will be so rosy.
