Good, because if they have enough talent to send Zib down, we are in for one hell of a season

Anybody else here think hes going down to hone his winger skills?
    also...indeed we are

even though I am not getting a great feeling about the top line. #2 and #3 though, mmmmmmmmmmmm

think we need some toughness though

i wouldnt be surprised to see Ryan on the second line wit Turris (which is ok by me...see sig ). during the presaeason games i watched they seemed to be way outta sync as the crossed the blueline. Spezz does do funny stuff on his way in and he may not be ready for stuff like that yet.

more tough, i agree totally, but where do you fit those guys in...4th line i guess but somebody has to sit.

Ryan and Spezza would be amazing with a guy like Dustin Brown. I don't see Michalek on the team next year so I think they will be gunning for a physical speedy high-end winger

So, tonight's the opener and I am pretty annoyed that Zibanejad isn't on the team. He had a phenomenal season last year and he is on his way to becoming our best two-way forward. I figure he earned his spot last year and I worry about what this will do to his confidence. If this is about Melnyk saving money, which it appears to be, that makes me even more worried. I really wish someone else would buy the team already.
    10-team Keeper. Everyone keeps 12 + 1 G + 3 "young keepers" (players with less than 164 NHL games played), and 1G. Points for G (2), A (2), PIM (.2), Hit (.2), Blk (.2) SHP(1), W(4), SO(8) Must dress 4C, 4LW, 4RW, 6D, 2G

C - Crosby, Backstrom, Kuznetsov, Eichel, Johansen
LW - E. Kane, Drouin, Schenn, Miller, Foligno, Zucker
RW - Wheeler, Stone, Lindholm, Oshie, Tolvanen
D - Karlsson, Carlson, Dumba, Nurse, Ceci, Pionk, Larsson, Montour
G - Murray, Quick, Koskinen, Blackwood, Georgiev

    Minors - Turcotte, Bouchard, Kaprizov

It's not about money. He was outplayed and didn't work hard enough. Pageau is a better player right now at both ends, Da Costa came in and earned his spot for now, and you don't want to keep Zibanejad up just to press box him. He'll be back soon, no worries...he's just 20 and this move will help him in the long-run. Right now if we want wins you have to put Pageau in over him.

With Turris, Pageau, and Smith you have two extremely good two-way centremen to back up Spezza and one grinding centre with size.

Great comments by Zibanejad by the way. Great kid and he's going to be a beast in Bingo.

    http://www.ottawasun.com/2013/10/03/...-to-binghamton

"When you get sent down, it's like (being told) you're not good enough to be there and you have to prove them wrong," Zibanejad, one of the Senators' final — and most surprising — training-camp cuts, said in a phone interview Thursday.

"It gives you that motivation... you get kinda pissed. You're not supposed to be OK with it. You're not supposed to say, 'OK, that's fine and we'll see what happens.'

"You're supposed to have a reaction and I think that's what (management) is looking for. And it's how I react. If I'm pissed and I'm coming down here and thinking I'm better than everyone else and I don't have to work as hard -- that's not happening. I have my mind set on being here and earning my minutes here by playing hard, and I know what I can do and bring to the team, so I'm just going to put my head down and work."

Bingo bench boss Luke Richardson expects nothing less.

"It's always going to be disappointing, it doesn't matter if you're the last cut from camp or the first, it's still your dream, and you have to get over that (disappointment)," said Richardson, who made sure Zibanejad was among the first players he spoke to after Monday's final round of cuts.

The advice was simple, and it was the same for every player who may have felt he deserved a better fate.

"Be upbeat, be positive and find what you love about the game," said Richardson. "Because you have to love the game to have any chance at being great at anything."

And Zibanejad will be given every opportunity to fall in love all over again, beginning the season as the B-Sens' top centre, with a pair of natural goal-scorers in Mark Stone and Matt Puempel riding his wings. The opener is Saturday night against the visiting Syracuse Crunch.

Richardson said the organization's philosophy is to have prospects developing in roles they would eventually duplicate in the big leagues.

"As a young guy, you have to start somewhere," said the 20-year-old, who was taken sixth overall at the 2011 draft. "Playing the third or fourth line (in the NHL) I think is good for me too, but it's also good to play a bigger role here and get that confidence. I have to be hard and gritty to play against, be physical and strong on the puck, that's what they want me to do and that's something I'm willing to work on. I feel like that's part of my game, but unfortunately I didn't get to show most of it during camp. They know what I can bring to the team, but it's about becoming more consistent."

And for Zibanejad, the quickest ticket back to the big leagues comes from playing a key role in Binghamton's success.

"Obviously everyone wants to be the one to get that call, that's natural," said Zibanejad.

"But for us down in Bingo, last year and maybe more this year, we have a young group and good chemistry and good competition on the whole team. Everyone's pushing to the same goal, and you're going to get more attention on a winning team than by being a good player on a losing team. You have a better chance of being noticed if you're at the top of the standings instead of the bottom, so that's what we're all striving for as a team."

Wish I could be in TO tonight. I want to see a win, but I don't really mind seeing Mason Raymond have some success. Now that that is out of the way, let's see about 6 goals for the good guys! Send Reimer to the bench!
