yes and it was the right thing to do

“I had a talk with Filip this morning where we discussed what would be best for him,” Gorton said. “And doing what’s best for him and his long-term interests are the priority.

“We want to see more of him before we come to the conclusion that he should go back to Czech—if that’s the decision. There’s no timetable on this. It depends on how it goes for him in Hartford. It could be a long-term thing, it might not be.

“We want to give him a chance. And he wants that chance.”

“He was the first to admit that the pace and competition stepped up from the pre-season,” Gorton said. “Filip said that he was a little bit nervous on the ice. So we wanted to get him to a place where he would get the time he needs to develop. And he is going to get all the time he needs there.”

“You know what, too? We have control here. I don’t mean control of the player, I mean control over how much he plays, what line he plays on, whether he’s on the power play. It’s nice to have control, sometimes.

Its a similar message as Buchnevich got last season. Gorton told him what was expected of him and what would happen when he did what the club wanted.

Hopefully there was a translator present just in case...

    great news for NYR

Taking a gander at the Wolfpack

Both Boo and Filip have put up some nice offensive numbers

    Filip Chytil 2GP 1G 2A 3points 4shots
Vinni Lettieri has 2 points in 4GP

    AV is shaking things up

Buch has been quite effective, much like Nash has. But there is no finish in his game as of yet, so moving him there perhaps lights a fire under his @$$ and gets the kid motivated.

So he broke the line up.

Having Fast and Vesey around also mitigates the loss as Vesey started off on the 4th line at the beginning of the season.

I am sure we will see Buch back in prime time ice time before long, not to mention that he did skate almost 4 minutes on the PP despite being on the 4th line

Nice home win tonight against a quality opponent.

NY clearly cannot just sit back and rely on a 1 goal lead, their defensive scheme is too porous.

Still a little too pass happy and although they have cut down on the horrific turnovers there are still plenty more to work on limiting.

The good news is that Henrik is playing pretty well, and the PP looks effective of late although in the 2nd and 3rd period the Preds effectively snuffed any chances NY had resulting in what I believe is 0 shots in 6 minutes of PP time.

Sayonara Matt Puempel and welcome Ryan Sproul.

Not sure what to make of this move, other than the Wings needed wiggle room for the new signing of AA. A right handed shot is always welcome in NY, good size too.

yup, Boo is up to center the 4th line with Grabner and Buchnevich

    Also down is Tony DeAngelo

it makes no sense for NY to dress 7 dmen and to have DeAngelo play PP and limited protected minutes. Better to have him play full time in the AHL.

This will hopefully be just like what happened to Buchnevich last season. Called in to coaches office, told he is being sent down. What is expected of the player and if he accomplishes those things he will be called back up to the big club at some point down the road.

Now NY can go with its normal starting 6 dmen and hope to work some "chemistry" into Ruff's & AV's system

Boo didn't look out of place in his first game during the first period which is all I have watched so far, but he had a very nice rebound opportunity just because of his impressive speed.

    best of luck BN

well you'll enjoy Boo's total output by the time the game ends for ya that's for sure. Certainly not looking into this game whatsoever against a winless team it was tough to watch Stepan in another jersey that's for sure.

yes he had a heck of game, 3 assists right ?

kind of reminds me of Steps first game v the Sabres when he scored a hatty

I liked Dstep as a ranger but I think his contract pretty much ensured he was a goner, just like Brass' was too

We can only imagine where NY would be with both those guys still on the club.

At this point would you even hesitate to swap say... Brass and Nash ? or Step and Nash ?

    I wouldn't

Love big Rick's game but to have one of those centers around would be a game changer as far as I am concerned

Nash has become a complete player but the scoring prime is long over and it's okay he's been a serviceable player but cannot sign again youth movement needs to be full swing this offseason. Def miss Stepan's Swiss Army knife utility and although Mika's game has grown the Rangers certainly cannot take on most teams down the middle. A team like the Ducks for instance would savagely abuse them even minus Kesler.

yes so overall we agree that it would have been better to have Step than Nash at this point.

Obviously Nash probably wouldn't have fetched nearly as much a return as Step did, so perhaps just the pick or maybe Tony DeAngelo without the higher pick ?

tough to say as centers are at a premium in the league

I suppose with Mika, Kevin and Boo things are looking up

now will AV stop playing Deharnais on the PP ? for the love of ^%$^$#
