    Thumbs up Teemu freakin' Selanne

I can recall the day the Jets signed Teemu, he had received an offer sheet from the Flames and the Jets matched, I was ecstatic as I thought this guy was for real. Holy shit is he ever...40 yrs old and he has 10 pts in 10 games (it's early obviously, but he clearly still has game).

Truly one of the all-time top combinations of pure class, skill, longevity and leadership. If he was a Canadian people would have him ranked among Yzerman and Sakic in terms of careers (with less Cups).

I just had to give him his due, he's walk-in Hall of Famer, an example of the way the game should be played, and has never been anything less than a first-class guy while doing it.

76 goals, 132 pts as a rookie, I was at a fair number of games in Winnipeg that year, it was pure electricity in that building anytime he touched the puck. I cannot see those records falling.

It will be a sad day for me when he finally hangs them up.

He was one of the players that actually benefited from the lockout as it gave him time to get healthy and recharge the batteries. And yeah, that 76-goal rookie season is just insane, today we're going all head over heels if a rookie gets 76 POINTS.

Simpler times when I was a young lad who couldn't have realized how amazingly lucky I was to have season ticket seats for an nhl team for all those years.

He brought much happiness to this city... I still watch youtube vids every once in awhile to remind me of what was.

that rookie season record is as untouchable as most of gretzky's... amazing talent. Kind of a disappointment though in my mind to be honest...

after that rookie season, he should've been even better.

People talk about favourite players. I have to answer:

    Selanne
    Brindamour
    Ray Bourque

Respectful, hard working, competitors, no trouble, high level, professional...

I'm not sure why Sakic doesn't automatically make my list...

I'm a huge Brind'Amour fan. Love that pick. The overall list is quality... and I'm sure if you did a top 5 Stevie Y and Sakic would be there... so you're forgiven haha.

Selanne is a class act and an elite talent. I have tried to draft him on every fantasy team I've ever had. Even my keeper league that drafted last year, I had to take him and I have no regrets for it. I even trade for him whenever playing franchise mode in video game hockey (always have).

It will be a damn shame when he finally hangs up the skates. First ballot hall of famer for sure!
    Without me, it's only "aweso".
