Hate W/So Leagues as goalie skill can largely go ignored. But Lundy will get more starts per year and the Rangers typically perform better than the Blues so I voted Lundy.
Lundquist
Halak
Which goalie would be the better option as a protector for both this year and the future?
Our league awards 1 pt for a win, .5 for an OT loss, and 1 for a shutout.
Cheers.

High hopes for Halak, but you have to go with the proven commodity in Lundqvist.

Yeo this is easy Lundqvist for sure ..... proven and on a similar quality team ..... Im not sold on Halak, yet ..... he was unreal in the playoffs btu i would want to see that oevr a season , as the number one guy before I start drinking the halak-aid
Lund for sure this year but if Halak pulls thru this year St. Louis is a better team. Just depends if you want the risk or not.
5 votes for Halak yet no comments posted. lets hear from the Halak side, maybe you can offer something the rest of us are missing....there is no real wrong answer. this is all just a matter of opinion. some opinions are just a little more accurate than others ;-)

What you're getting in Lundy: consistency. He's always gotten high praise as a keeper G, but I've never considered him a tier 1 goalie, he's definitely a mid to high tier 2 kind of guy.
Halak, while it's very early to judge right now has the opportunity to leap into that tier 1 group by end of year. He could also become the next Price =P. I'm in the group that is riding high on Halak.
But aside from personal preference, you should consider the setup of your league. Do you only have/start 1 goalie? Is your team stacked at other positions? Evaluate the rest of your team and base your decision on that.
If you're strong up front/on D, then you can consider taking a risk on Halak. If you're banking on your G to produce, Lundy is definitely the go to guy. If not, I'd say take the risk =)
