Default All this Myers talk has me wondering...

I have an owner after Myers for a while now but he's not offering anything I'd want in return. He's got a pretty stacked team and I took over my debacle last year. He keeps offering guys like Booth and Pominville but I don't really see them offering me more than Myers.

So - should I entertain moving Myers, and if so, see if there's an offer I can put together?

    16 teams, H2H (G, A, +/-, PIM, SOG, PPP and W, SV%, GAA, SHO)

    His team:
3C - Malkin, Stamkos, Carter, Tavares
    3LW - Sedin, Ryan, Booth, T Ruutu
3RW - Kane, Setoguchi, Pominville, Latendresse, Kovalev, Okposo
6D - Letang, Ehrhoff, Stralman, Quincey, Seabrook, Babchuk, Corvo
    1G - MAF, Price, Vokoun

    RW - Petrov, Tarasenko
    D - Franson, Hedman, Noreau
    G - Lehner, Rynnas, Simpson

    My team:
3C - Ribeiro, Filppula, J Staal, Bailey, Eller, Perreault
3LW - Hall, Hartnell, Stalberg, Pacioretty
3RW - Hornqvist, Voracek, Wheeler, Grabner
6D - Boychuk, MDZ, Ericsson, McBain, Myers, Wideman
1G - Luongo, Biron, Bernier, Karlsson

    Farm:
    C - Burmistrov, LeBlanc, Schenn
    RW - Galiev, Kuehnhackl
D - Blum, Leddy, McDonagh, Olsen, Rundblad
G - Bachman, Holtby, Murphy, Tokarski

If you can get proper value for an impressive rookie season and up and comer then I'd say try to but not what he's offering. I don't see myers being a top 10 Dman in fantasy anytime in his career...but thats just me. You have time to move him, wait for the right offer and jump!

Tell him to add Okposo and you add Wheeler and it's a deal.

That's if he offers you both Pominville and Booth or is it one or the other?

I think Myers is a good sell high, like Mason was a year ago....

In a 16 team 6 defence league, myers holds a lot of value. Even if he never gets above 50 points in his career, a 40-50 point defenceman is worth quite a bit IMO. Not sure I'd trade him unless he gave up stralman and okposo

you should be asking for the moon for Myers and here's what you should say...

ask him how many rookie defensemen he can think of who have scored 48 points in their rookie year...Paul Coffey didn't, neither did Pronger or Mike Green or Doughty or Keith. Its a pretty remarkable accomplishment and puts him in some unique company with the likes of Al McInnis, Denis Potvin, and Brian Leetch among others.

bottom line, if you aren't getting top dollar for him (i.e. Stamkos, Kane, Ryan, etc) then tell him to stuff it

    I agree with Mr. McGoo.
Myers is worth much more than Pominville or Booth.
I wouldn't let him go for anything less than one of the elite names that were just listed.

    Great advice above.
Move Myers if you can get quality back for him.
    Ask for Tavares!

He's got too much C & you've got few. Perfect trade.

Just because some guy in your pool is low-balling you for Myers, don't let that question his worth. He will be the first pairing defenceman and will be QB'ing the PP in Buffalo, and since Ruff likes to run 4 forwards on the powerplay, you'll see Myers on the PP with Roy, Vanek, Pomminville and Connelly (or Ennis if he steps up this year)

Given those circumstances, he will have PLENTY of opportunities to succeed point-wise in Buffalo.

Entertain offers if they come your way, but I wouldn't shop him around.

I can't figure out the value of this kid. I see Myers ranked 35th on Dobber's list of defensemen behind guys like Cam Barker and Ryan Suter, and then I read this thread. He looked great to me whenever I got a chance to see Buffalo play, but it seems like a lot of people think last year was his upside.

Myers is the real deal. He did not only have a 48 point rookie season, but he only had 16 power play points (33%). Top defender usualy score more than 50% of their points with the man advantage, and i´m sure Myers will get there so he has a lot of room to even get better!

    I emailed him and said:

    JT for Myers or
Okposo + Hedman for Myers + Wheeler or
    Ryan for Myers

He said Okposo + 1st pick (late 1st round, 2011 draftees) for Myers + later pick

I said Hedman would need to be included - he said he doesn't know how to value Hedman.

Should I pressure for Hedman and Okposo? Would that be good for Myers?

Try this: Okposo + Hedman for Myers + Wheeler.

Myers is elite and if you are going to move him then you should get elite in return. The nice thing is that if Hedman steps (which he will) you'll end up with two elite players for one.
