    Default Which starter to target.

I hope I don't regret keeping Doughty over Miller but, we have to announce our 4 keepers soon and as best I can see this is a list of goalies going back into the pool. I have the #4 pick from my Miller trade. Give me your top 5 based on these stats..Wins, Saves, Save %, GAA. I could also look to trade Backstrom(WAS.) for Luongo, but considering the amount of offensive stats he brings I would rather piece together my goalies with the likes of Halak/Howard for example....2 solid starters over 1 stud. Thoughts?

    Bryz(can he repeat)
Halak(looks to be in a great spot)
    Fleury(terrible peripherals)
    Ward(a health concern????)
    Howard,
    Rask/Thomas(2 spots for 1 goalie)

The rest, Backstrom, Ellis, Vokoun, Rinne, S. Mason, Niemi, Varly

    10 team H2H !Y League (4 keepers - at least 1 must be a D-man OR Goalie)
    Start - 2C, 2L, 2R, 1U, 3D, 2G, 6Bench, 2IR, 2IR+ (Daily) (5 moves per week)
    Skaters - G, A, +/-, PPP,
    PIM, HITS, BS, GWG, SOG
Goalies - Wins, Saves, S%, GAA (Min. 4 starts)
    Championships 2007, 2009, 2012, 2016, 2017,
    2019*, 2023

    C-McDavid, Trocheck, Thomas
    L-B.Tkachuk(C/L), Forsberg, Hyman(L/R)
    R-Svechnikov(L/R) Konecny(L/R) P. Kane, Zucc

    I would target..

Halak: - in a great situation and a good young team.. no one to realistically challenge for his spot. Will start a large majority of games.

Rask: - I dont think boston will give rask a giant work load just yet. Thomas will probably see his fair share of starts as the bruins ease rask into workhorse status over the next 2 seasons. Around 50 games is still pretty good though. Should put up solid #'s across the board.

Nieme: - only if he stays in chicago. You cant think that the hawks would be comfortable with crawford as their starting goalie.

Varlamov: -if you want to gamble?.. 2 risks here. First, injury history. Second, Neuvirth is going to challenge for that #1 spot as well. However, if he can take over that #1 spot and secure it..watch out.

Rinne: should also put up decent numbers and get lots of starts.

    S. Mason: Could maybe be picked up later than the first round? A new coach in columbus might be just what this team needs, and Mason could be a large beneficiary of the team playing better. Again, this is another risk.
    16 Team H2H Full Keeper: G, A, Pts, +/-, PIM, SOG, STP, H+B, FW, GAA, SV%, W, SV, SO

    Center: Eichel, Scheifele, Nelson, Pirri
Left Wing: Huberdeau, Hoffman (C/LW), Maroon, Soderberg (C/LW)
Right Wing: Kessel, Little (C/RW), Nyquist (C/RW), Zucarrello (LW/RW)
Defense: Karlsson, Carlson, Savard, Stone, Petry, McNabb
    Goalie: Bishop, Anderson, Raanta
Bench: Lander, JT Miller, Eakin, Gerbe (C/LW), Dorsett, Jurco, Coyle (C/RW)

Farm: Gormley, S. Morin, Paquette, Weal, Poirier, Vesey, Goldobin, Fiala, Sprong, Copp, Griffith, Stolarz (G), Visentin (G), Bibeau (G), S. Williams (G)

I will support the Rask choice. He's got the goods. Plain and simple. Raycroft for Rask is potentially one of the top 10 worst NHL trades ever.

Halak will be good and isn't being challenged, but we don't know if he'll break down later into the season. Halak will still put up numbers but I think the division he's playing in is stronger than Rask's.

Ward won't be a health concern but the team in front of him will be.
Bryzgalov has a great personality and could do just as well this year as long as most of the coaching pieces stay in place. Ultimately, he's playing in a tough division.

You wouldn't be concerned about the possible time share with Thomas? I love the kid..he saved my season last year, but I'm hesitant to put my season in his hands simply for the fact he won't get a ton of starts. Guys like Bryz., Halak and Fleury(ooof) will.

    Default Anderson or Niittymaki?

I'm targetting two goalies that happen to be on the same team that I'm talking too.

Which goalie has a better year - Anderson or Niittymaki in his new home in San Jose?

The guy wants Chet Pickard and I have Halak and Giguere already.

We only start one goalie a night.

I would go with Rinne, he is not only the best of the bunch but will play a ton of games.

The other guy is clearly MAF as he will provide a lot of wins

then there is a step down to the 1A guys

Rask looks to be a good wager to get the lions share of games played

Halak is next again due to games played

the last of the 5 is Ward

long term I think Halak is worth considering as the Blues blueline should continue to improve, whereas Rask will most likely lose Chara. Ward is a bit of a wildcard, but with a cup and the proven ability to win big games I would probably keep him over Rask.
Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.
