With only those cats to consider, Niemi is the easy choice for me.
26 wins and 7 sho this past season for niemi...IN ONLY 39 STARTS. Hawks will be dominate for years and Niemi will be the guy in net for them.
If you counted more goalie cats I'd agree with Rask, but with only W and SHO factoring in, the team they play in front of is almost as important as the goalie themselves.
Let's not play down Niemi's abilities either. This kid is gonna be good....very good.

Rask for me too. Though Rangers0035 makes good points about the cats being W and SO, meaning it's almost more a reflection on how the team does (as opposed to SV%, Saves....) so picking CHI over BOS isn't a bad idea, but to me Rask just seems the more talented of the two, putting up sick numbers on a weaker team and dethroning the Vezina champ (and not Huet....). He was well seasoned in the AHL and I think he's going to be the better goalie, with the more consistent and sustainable production. This is not to say Niemi is bad. Heck no, he's playing out of his mind right now too, but I just think Rask is better.
