Its not even close...longterm Carey Price after he matures is going to be one of the BEST goalies in the NHL. Odds of that happening if he's playing elsewhere 100% odds of that happening while in habland, 65%

Not even close? Seems like allot of people dissagree. Maybe its time to re-evaluate C.Price's worth to a nore reasonable output. Halak is only a few years older and would come w/o any baggage.

I responded too fast, thought you were talking about who starts on Saturday (Halak)

However I do feel longterm Price is the guy. I just don't think he'll do it in Montreal. If they can send him to Edmonton for a top flight prospect (think MSP, Gagner, Eberle) and a 2nd rounder do it! I'm a long time Habs fan but Price was ruined in Montreal and they need to move him before his value drops any lower.

I voted based on the 2010 playoffs only...not long term.

Price for me. He'll be just as good as Halak, but has a much higher upside. I take upside.

Hmmmmm, I am not going with the majority here and I am taking Halak. I just think he is the better of the two, he can steal games, he makes the big saves. Halak is the man..

Price too shaky, now prove me wrong C.Price.

I've been backing Price all year but I confess my confidence is seriously waning, I'm starting to doubt if he's ever going to turn it around...glad I don't own him in any leagues, I'm saying Halak until proven otherwise

    If neither gets traded, Halak.
Otherwise, Price (as long as Price is the outright starter with no competition)

My guess would be $2.5 to $3.0 million. Maybe a 2 year contract. Basically, a little less then the Rinne contract but a little better then Anderson or Quick. The short term will allow Halak to cash in once he firm established himself as a top starter.
A good 75% of a season is probably not quite enough to get a GM to buy in with a long term or big money contract. With a HUGE playoff upset he might have cashed in but it is looking like a long shot now.
