I guy in my league, currently playing in the 1st round of the playoffs, just lost Leighton to an injury. I just happened to be watching VS when they announced the injury and quickly ran to the computer to grab Boucher. He also has Quick and Roloson, but is livid that I grabbed Boucher before him. Now there's a bit of gamesmanship here. He's in my playoff bracket and it would give me a slight advantage should he advance. I also needed a 3rd goalie since Peters is splitting time in Carolina. He also had Ward go down when I grabbed PetersNow am I a prick and should I feel bad about this? I'm sure if I didn't grab him someone would have anyway.
But then there's good old karma, should he lose I'll probably get whooped by the other team.

You don't need to rationalize it by saying you need 3rd goalie, etc.. I would've done it and just told the guy yeah it was a defensive move to keep him from getting that goalie, suck it up buttercup.
I agree - I had Leighton, and when I found out I ran to grab a goalie, worried that someone would grab him just to deny him to me. Luckily, I got there first, but if I hadn't I'd be pissed, but not because it would have been cheap or unethical, only that I was too slow. As said, it's part of the game.

You want to eat dinner, the first thing you need to do is get to the table - you did and he didn't. Be a different story if you really didn't have a need for another goalie maybe - then I think there would be an ethical issue. Boucher for Peters, right now? That's is the identical move I just made - gotta be an upgrade if the FH gods are smiling on us.
