    Default Need a 2nd Goalie

So I have Luongo, who I kept (4 keepers), and through 3 full rounds of draft, I do not have a 2nd goalie yet. Everyone else in the league does. My offense is rocking though. There are 12 managers, so that means 23 goalies have been taken.

I'm a little unsure about who to take next. I don't pick till the end of round 4 and get back to back picks. The goalie cats are: W, L, GAA, SV%, SO. Remaining goalies of some interest:

    Toskala
    Bryzgalov
    Emery
    Lehtonen
    Vokoun
    Theodore
    Howard
    Halak
    Leclaire
    Quick

That's about it of any interest. I was thinking Osgood or Giguere, but they have both been taken. Also not so sure if they going to start that many games anyways. Of that list, who looks best?

Most people in the league will end up with 3 goalies, but may be more pressed for better forwards or d. I think it's pretty imperative I get one with my next pick. I have some thoughts of who I'd like, looking for some more advice. Also don't worry about the keeper factor because this goalie will not be kept.

    thanks

bry's, vokoun, quick is how i would take them. maybe even vokoun first. not sure how you get points for a loss - or maybe its deducted but vokoun's overall stats will be better but bry's is a better younger option maybe more long term.

    to confirm, it's a H2H league. 3 goalie starts minimum a week.

for losses, whoever has less losses in the week wins that cat.

Quick would be my pick - you can take him a little later and stack up some more on offence - which if doesn't work out trade some of it and get a keeper.

    Otherwise I would go:
Emery (and then not keep him after this year, or trade him when Philly is hot) Vokoun annnnd none of the rest.

Toskala- everyone has counted this guy out, great D in front of him I think he is going to turn some heads may even be able to get him later but wouldn't risk it.
Lehtonen- I think Atlanta will be a much better team this year starting with a healthy Kari
Vokoun- not much to say about him just a good tender
Bryz- If you don't want Wins take this guy
    Quick- see above

In this situation I would take Emery - he will get lots of oppurtunity to shine. Whether he does or not is another question...Toskala is seriously overrated and doesn't have much of a team in front of him.

I really beleive in Toskala's ability, too many people right him off because of the Jersey he wears. He is a good goaltender who was battling through injury last year he will be pushed by the Monster and his skill will shine through.

Since you're not going to keep any of these tenders past this year, you might want to think long & hard about Vokoun. He puts up very good stats on sub-par teams. And their is minimal risk of him going nuts and eventually shooting up the locker room like Emery.

I like Vokoun , Quick is almost equal , Emery & Theo are the gamble picks , Halak the sleeper pick , Toskala the may get traded to a winning team pick , Lehts & Leclare arethe "if he stays healthy" pick , Bryz is the future stud pick (I'm not convinced personally) , and Howard is the "will he ever get a chance" pick!Good luck.

It's not his jersey its his record. He put up good numbers once playing 1/2 a season with SJ 5 years ago. Since then he's barely an average goalie. He's already 32 and I really don't see him breaking out.

I could be wrong of course, look at Tim Thomas

Grab Vokoun if you can, this guy is criminally underrated because of the teams he has been on in his career.

I'd take Emery & Vokoun good for 2 more years each.
And then go with Lehtonen. If you want a decent cheap pick Toskala should have a bounce back season. Everyone is hyping up "The Monster" who is going to play at most 20% of the starts. Unless Bruke can move Toskala (Which no one wants)
