this really isn\'t a surprise is it??
perhaps instead of an \'injury update\' for guys like dipietro, gaborik, kariya, forsberg, etc., we should have a thread for when they actually play...
Looks like a mild groin strain. Out for tonight and probably more.

That would help so many people
As a DiPietro owner in my keeper league, just another dagger to the heart.
I saw Eric Idle outside my poolie team headquarters today pushing a cart and shouting \"Bring Out Yer Dead\".....
If only DP had the moxy to say \"It\'s But A Flesh Wound.....\"

Wow....just wow. Too bad the NHL doesnt have non-guarenteed contracts like football does. Then the Isles could have possibly rectified this mistake.
Then again, the same could be said for the Stars.
.....And the f#*%ing Rangers.
If you take a glance at my sig. you\'ll see it\'s been a tough year in net for me.
I\'m just hoping DiPietro can come back and finish somewhat strong so I can try to get something from him this offseason. I\'d rather he was someone else\'s problem.
Points-only, Full Keeper Dynasty League

Goal: Lehner, Holtby, Varlamov
Farm: Soderstrom, York, Woo, Tracey, Dorofeyev
Sell him for the best deal humanly possible, even if you feel like you could get a better deal if he was consistently healthy. Like you said, let somone else deal with his shit and if you get anything of value in return, its a successfull trade.
I remember when he signed the contract and everyone was up in arms over it, I thought that if he could stay healthy this deal wouldn\'t be so bad. Afterall, $5 mil a season for a starting goalie isn\'t that bad.
Now, this could go down as one of the worst contracts out there. The only one happy is Dipietro; he\'s getting a lot of money for doing nothing!
I wouldn\'t be surprised if in the next round of collective bargaining that non-guaranteed contracts aren\'t put on the table. If I was an owner, I\'d be pushing hard for it.
Just my $.02

I think that would be reasonable for very long contracts. Im sure the Isles wish they had a do over on Dipietro. Imo, something like 1-7 year deals should be guarenteed. If you **** up, too bad. Anything more than that and you cannot predict 8-10 years in the future. Those contracts should be non-guarenteed. Who really thought Dipi or Gaborik(potentially) could spend 10 years injury free?
