Curtis McElhinney vs. Detroit??

Would like to hear everybody\'s comments on this, especially Flames\' fans, but I just don\'t know about this. This poor kid barely plays and now they put him up against the Red Wings. I just feel like it\'s setting him up to fail and then if they lose blame it on him. If the Flames somehow win, Keenan looks like a genius. Really don\'t like this move at all. Like why not start him against the Habs yesterday?





Also wouldn\'t be surprised to see Kipper starting at the last minute.

The only thing I can think of is Keenan is pulling another power play on Kipper because he let in a couple of goals he should have saved last night.

I would still play Kipprusoff against the Wings regardless.

Weird move.

Hopefully you\'re right and Kipper is inserted last minute.

I think they want to keep Kipper\'s confidence up. The wings score a lot (as we all know), so Keenan is saving himself the trouble of having Kipper get spooked by giving up 6 or 7 goals to the wings (not that that is a likely scenario, but it is possible), and taking the low risk approach by throwing in McElhinney. Thats my guess

the flames didn\'t get into their hotel in detroit until 4 AM in the morning after last night\'s game vs the canadiens.

it\'s a prudent move to ensure that a tired kiprusoff doesn\'t get injured.

it\'s also probably a bit of a psycological gamble, knowing that his team will not be at the top of their games due to lack of sleep, hopefully sparking them to play stronger than they normally would in front of the backup tender.

flames @ the wings is sketchy at best, with no sleep it\'s near impossible. might as well give curtis a start.

Yeah I think its a move to save Kipper\'s body and/or ego. Also maybe throw the Wings off guard - they have seemed to blast Kipper pretty often recently, so why not try something else?

haha, i know jl67. shitty as all hell. if i was a gambler, i\'d be betting on the home team.

i blame the US americans and their customs. and then i blame the NHL schedulers for not planning for crappy US customs. then i blame bettman... cuz all the cool kids are doing it.
