Default Advice about sitting in 2nd, with one move left - I'll rep

Hi everyone, bear with me here...I'm in a points only league (extra for PPG and GWG) with one move left for the rest of the season. I currently have injury to Schwartz (likely back soon) and Aho (haven't read and conclusive timeline about his injury) and Mason (likely my drop..)

My team is sitting in second, at about 10 points behind the leader and battling very closely in 2nd/3rd. There is a rather large (40pt) gap to fourth. We run 6F, 4D and 1G + 1 IR (Schwartz). Goal-tending is way I'm thinking to gain some points down the stretch (I'm running Bishop, Mason, Jarry). I've been unsuccessful for trading - not many willing owners in a points league.

    My Team:
Forwards: Couturier, Stamkos, Galchenyuk, Trochek, Skinner, Aho, Schenn, Guentzal, Schwartz (IR)
Defense: Burns, Letang, Theodore, Montour, Myers
    Goalie: Bishop, Jarry, Mason

I am wondering what to do with my final move - It's a 15 team league, so the wire is combed through, but here's the best available:

    Haula
    Josh Anderson
    Little
Atkinson (Back from injury soon, but I like Anderson better)
Beauvillier (not sure of consistency here)
    Bertuzzi
    Nash
    Bratt

    Lindell
    Nurse
    Pulock

    Saros
    Dell
    Lehtonen

Many thanks if anyone answers this!

Can you post your whole team so we have a better idea of what you might need?

This is just me, but I'd go with the boom or bust pick with Atkinson. If he catches fire, he's the best of the bunch. But he can also run pretty cold.

    Thanks for the input here!

I think I'll have to wait for Aho's status to decide. If Aho is back sooner than later, I'll drop Mason to have Schwartz back. Then, I'll have to decide if Guentzal or Montour would be my drop. I like having 5D as to fill voids the best I can.

I like Little in the Jets' top 6 as well. Not sure if Atkinson knocks Jenner or Bjork out of the top 6?

Mason is a complete dead roster spot. almost like rostering Nichushkin. There's a clear opportunity to make a roster improvement there. That would be my drop.

That said, being 10pts back and 1 move left with 35ish games left in the season, I fear of making this move too soon. Getting a big injury and not being able to recover any ground... right now I would hold. and revisit 10games from now. you'll still be dropping mason

Points only setup extra point for PPG and GWG. Thanks!

I know it - I had hopes of Mason in a rotation this year (delusions of grandeur). I've swapped mason onto the IR for now and taken Schwartz off as he could be back later this week. Thanks for the advice! I think I will do just that - exercise patience. In the mean time, hopefully some news is released on Aho.

Aho should be back after all-star break.

I don't think you need to make a move yet. Drop Mason when Schwartz is back and wait and see.

If anything.. I would pick up Dell since he is really picking up steam as a 1B option.

Dell is certainly on my watchlist. I'm going to sit tight for now and wait until post all star break.

Aho was skating today, no practice yet - but it's encouraging!
