How to make a free agent (FA) pick up:

Check the list in the next post to see if they are already on another team\'s roster.

If the player you want to pick up is not on that list, then he should be available.

If it turns out I made a mistake and the player should have been on the taken list, then I will fix my mistake and your next FA pick will be done by The Comish (in Yahoo) in order to give you back the pick you lost through my error.

After checking the list, if the player you want is available, then quickly post your pick in this thread.

Once you post your pick in the thread, then you can make the pick in Yahoo. After it\'s been actioned, I will delete your post to keep this thread clean.

I prefer to keep the posts seperate for a certain amount of time (maybe a week?) I have my own roster file that I maintain and I need the individual posts to do that.

The \'updated on\' is a good idea, to simplify the process a little

You don\'t need to grab a player right away in Yahoo, you just need to post it here first to make sure he\'s yours.

Sorry for doing this to you buddy, but I was contemplating to take him for almost 2 weeks now in case I decide to move one of my goalies. But when I saw your post about him and the other, I guessed that it was now or never to get him.

Thanks for this reply pensfan. We are using the 48 hour waiver period for dropped players.

This pool is still a bit of a work in progress. I\'m still trying to find the time to put the finishing touches on all the details in the rules (trying to eliminate any loopholes - those hockey pool lawyer types always seem to find them!).

Crazy, I\'ll record your player request(s) and wipe your post so no one can read it and say hey I\'ll put my name in for him. After 48 hours, I\'ll send you an email letting you know if you got him/them.

No need to post waiver claims here. Send me an email, complete with any players you need to drop or place on IR, etc, that way you don\'t have to tell the world which player(s) you want.

For now let\'s go with the 48 hours rule, but I really think you have something with the 9 PM EST on the second day following the drop. I just need to think about the differences between the two.

It only applies to the guy we drop on the waiver, not the FA.
