Anyone have news on this?... I just heard in a discussion room that they are trying Nurse on the #1 Unit , but havent been able to confirm

'bout time....while in SSM in the OHL being on PP1 was his bread and butter. Hopefully he excels in EDM with his new assignment.

Lucky spot to be in for Nurse. Edmonton is bound to get better on their PP at some point and if things start clicking while he is QB'ing at the back end his value will skyrocket.

Might not be so good for Klefbom owners, however.

Yep. I dont know how much PP time Nurse has ever got in his time in Edmonton but hey, when you're hot you're hot so might as well ride the hot hand and hope for the best.

AH! This is why I dislike trying to trade with inactive owners. I have "ongoing" trade talks for Nurse and Patches going with one GM, but it takes him a week to reply to every offer. This, of course, is after my negotiations never really took off for the same reason with another GM about Hamilton. I just need to solidify my D here boys! Pay attention and let me sell high on Bailey!

Worst part is, we're all pretty close, and the two inactive guys both love the game and the league. Just can't convince them to devote 20 minutes a night to looking at the thing.

Nurse has barely gotten a sniff of pp time since he's been in Edm and most of that was 2nd pp unit.

He's on pace for 30-ish points with 0 pp time so far this year. The average D who plays on a 1st unit is usually good for 10-ish pp points a year, the better ones get upwards of 15-20+. I grabbed Nurse a few weeks ago and had to decide between him and Phaneuf as to whom I would drop (finally started to get healthy) I picked Nurse for following reasons

- Hits and blocks a lot, also contributes steadily in the pims department.
- Is young, 22, just entering his prime physical years and majority of D (not named McAvoy!) take a few years to marinate at NHL level before taking off, if they ever do.
- Edm scores a lot, maybe not as much as people would have expected this year, but score they do and loaded with top end talent, plus their pp should be way better then it is, if Nurse can stick on that 1st unit, can you say money?
- Opportunity in Edm as of now, Sekejra? w/e, is old and not what he used to be. Klefbom has been terrible this year, was dealing with injuries, but he's let the door open. Edm has no other D on their roster or in their system (that can come in the next few years) that can contribute to that 1st pp unit.

If Nurse can stick the landing and keep this new assignment, could see him pushing 40-ish points next year, maybe close to 50 points eventually, the pedigree has always been there, just needed time to adjust and the opportunity.
