PO: Give Provorov to get OEL? REP Given!

For second team in sig: it really comes down to what you think Provorov will turn into. I think this might be a good time to get OEL, but am I giving away a future OEL? Also this trade comes with me giving a slight 2nd round upgrade (5 spots or so). Thoughts?

I would maybe consider it without the pick upgrade... but with the pick upgrade you are best to keep Provorov.

But I am a flyers fan and tend to under-value them when it comes to fantasy hockey.

Provorov will turn into a solid #1 defenseman who puts up good peripherals, and has a very good offensive game when given the chance to show it. He develops into this sometime around early 2017.

I assume that was a typo, but just curious what time frame you intended to type?

(I'm not trying to be an ass, I swear. Just curious about your thoughts/expectations for Provorov going forward given your Philly area roots.)

Call me crazy, but I'd keep OEL. Chances are he gets moved in the near future which will really upgrade his value. If not, Arizona should improve next season and his point totals should as well.

I don't think you're crazy, which is why I put it up for debate. I could see either side making sense.

I think there's no typo and it's just a tongue-in-cheek comment. Provorov already logs 25 mins a game for Philly and has looked like a pro since day one.

Aha ... that's another way to look at for sure that totally passed me by! I thought maybe he was pegging the time frame when he thought Provorov might kick into yet another gear offensively, but maybe not. LOL!

Funny thing is this thread gave me the idea of offering my Provorov for OEL in my pts keeper league which was quickly turned down. No counter either! bah!

I think the biggest difference in their value comes from the situations their teams are in. They both carry their respective blue lines, and each have another offensive dman on the team to split some of the workload with. I think until the end of next season, Provorov will be the better own, but after that it really depends on where OEL is playing. OEL playing even in Philly would be the better own, so I suppose it really depends on your window, and whether you have any faith that OEL would re-sign in Arizona.

That was 100% intentional. He is that right now.

Yeah, I was being a bit too cute. He's a #1D right now, who I think projects as a potential multiple Norris Trophy winner. He could be a good #1 PP defenseman, but Gostisbehere is elite at that.
