Chabot projections for next year?
Thoughts on Chabot moving forward?
He's currently prospect protected on my roster, but only until he reaches 60GP, which he will hit this year (unless he gets injured). I was counting on him splitting between the NHL/AHL to keep him protected past this season, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.
I've got a fairly low offer on the table for 7th round draft pick (out of 11 rounds), but I don't think I'll get much more than that.
Does he reach 40+ pts next year? In 2-3 years is he a 50+ pt Dman? Do I protect him (keep 10) with my roster over someone else, with a long-term picture in mind?

Chabot has a ton of potential, but will he be stuck behind Karlsson for many more years? 40 next years is a possibilty, but to reach 50s with Karlsson in front of him will be hard. He's on the line to be your 10th keeper beside Atkinson, Tofffoli, Atkinson, Ellis. Maybe you should try to shop those guys to see if they can earn you a better return than a 7th round and keep Chabot...

seems to be a young mans game.. I can see 40pts next year... 50 def. in the cards for this kid. Ott isn't exactly an offensive dynamo loaded with talent up front. If he's showing the goods, they could easily go to a 2dman PP1 unit - ala - Columbus. And if Karlsson walks this summer, world's his oyster. hopefully you get the EK answer before you declare keepers

Thanks guys. There hasn't been a market for atkinson, and toffoli and ellis are guys I feel like I need to win this year. Trade deadline is in 2 weeks. If this was off-season, that's definately what I would be thinking.
Chabot doesn't help me win at all this year, but I'm trying to stash him. I think the other owner sees my conundrum.

Depends on opportunity. He's obviously going to get a bigger role next year, especially if they move Phaneuf at some point. Question is whether he will get top offensive chances. I think 30 points is probably in the offing, hope for 40. He will get there, but as we know with guys like Jones and Hedman it can take quite some time.
