Guys, what is the word on him?

He's in fire in the AHL this year...but his play doesn't seem to translate to NHL.

What is his real potential as of today?

He's not up to the standard of Marner or Barzal yet, but 1.6 ppg in the AHL as a 20 year old is extremely encouraging.

He either needs to fix his feet, and he'll probably be a stud, or he'll just be a high end Pulkinnen. Really tough to say at this point if he's willing to put in the effort to fix his foot speed.

Needs to work on his play away from the puck a bit more, it's not horrible but it's nowhere near good or even average.

As rataylor said, foot speed is his Achilles heel... if he can't/won't improve his speed, he'll never be a top producer at NHL level, could be dangerous on the pp potentially with his high end skill, but 5v5, nope.
Even if he does improve it, unless he takes leaps and bounds, I doubt he reaches the potential people saw in him (1st line center/franchise center) will still probably top out as a good top six center, which isn't that bad really.

Go get him Horvat's skating coach, whomever helped him did wonders for him.

I agree with what has been said above. Today's NHL is fast. Strome is lacking here and I don't think he has the IQ to make up for it.
