Feels weird to say, but I'd take Schmaltz.

Toews has always been fairly overrated for fantasy, probably only a 50-60 point C now, those are replaceable. Schmaltz has more upside, at worst I think he falls into that same range and Toews.

If you are trying to win this year I would not want to take on risk I would keep Toews cause we know he can do it for the full season and there is less risk with him.

I would compare Schmaltz to someone like Marchessault last year.... had a great first 2/3 of the year but slowed down significantly in the final 1/3 of the season...

Not saying this WILL happen....just saying it COULD Happen... and with that risk I take Toews.

IIRC Marchessault played with Hub & Barkov while he was hot, then got relegated down which caused his slow down. Schmaltz has been with Kane all year on 1st PP so I like his position better
