He is definitely not a keeper and on his 43-pt pace he is waiver fodder in most 12-team leagues. There's value in dropping him just to open a streaming slot.
Have you given up on him yet? I am getting close.

I am trying to trade him in my dynasty league, but keep in mind Pittsburgh as a whole is shooting way below their average SH%, so that should correct itself and Guentzel would be right in the middle of that as long as he's playing with Crosby or Malkin or Kessel.

I have been holding out all season so far in a 1 year points-only league. I'm in the same boat as you, very close to cutting him loose.

I cut bait on him last week. Really disappointed in myself that I kept him over Kopitar and B Schenn

I hear ya. What saves me is that I picked up Tyler Johnson. With his RW spot he has been excellent.

He's on pace for over 200sog and over 150hits. I think he has a great second half when the pittsburgh regression begins.

He isn't worth what you gave up top keep him. Accept that, move on, and he's still a great asset to have for the second half IMO

It would depend on alot of league details. In my 10team roto with games played limits I'm keeping him. He warms the bench until he gets hot, and the sunk cost of holding him the first half of the year won't change how he performs in teh second half. All of the PITTs SH% are unsustainably low, I'm expecting another hot run out of Guentzel in the second half. Mabe a 0.7-0.8 pt/game pace the rest of the way.

I dealt him and Horvat for Josi and Smith. Threw in some late picks too but definitely disappointing as I took him in the 2nd round of our keeper draft (we keep 8) ahead of Schwartz and Rakell.

I still have him in one league and can't trade him so I'm close, but I moved him last year around the first round of the playoffs in another.

I picked JG up as a free agent November 2016 in a 16 team dynasty, then I traded him straight up for Rantanen around the end of April/start of May 2017. A couple of days ago I traded Rantanen (main piece) in a package to get Laine.

Turned a free agent pickup into Laine That's how it's done, son.

Guentzel is a VERY STRONG drop. While talented, last year's totals were a big product of playing with Crosby. And since they have dedicated him to the third line in an attempt to save their season by having 3 scoring lines, there is not even hope of playing with Malkin. Of all the top teams where regression shouldn't really happen this season, it is the Pens. Continued deep playoff runs, and even the Cup last year, means a huge post-cup nodoff, which we are seeing. I would not touch anyone that isn't on the top PP unit (malkin, letang, crosby, hornqvist, kessel) this year.

I will probably wait to drop him so I can't get burned too bad when he is scooped up. I am also fighting this decision with Darling. I have let some goalies I would love to scoop up because of Darling.

Dropped him 6 weeks ago. Are you guys kidding me? Just watch Pens games, don’t go off the stats from last year. He does not look as dynamic as he did last season.

Dropped him today. With Schwartz coming back I had to drop either Guentzel or Little. I have also given up on Darling. As soon a goalie becomes available I want to snag, he'll be replaced.

Darling and Guentzel were my first 2 draft picks (10 keepers/ 12 teams). I am currently in 1st because I hit on other picks.
