If there were any doubts about Rasmus Dahlin coming into the World Junior Championship, they were all but erased by his spectacular performance at the tournament. The draft eligible defenceman had 6 points in 7 games, and was named the tournament?s best defenceman. He showcased his dazzling skating and offensive abilities every game, regularly rushing the puck up ice and dancing through opponents to create scoring chances.

?Dahlin?s performance not only solidified his #1 ranking, he separated himself from everyone else?, said ISS Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. ?Dahlin showed the ability to be a difference maker in each and every game he played. When he has the puck on his stick, he is one of the most electric players in this age group?.

It's really interesting comparing this list to Buttons. Merkley 12 to 23, Boqvist from 2 to 8. They agree on Wahlstrom

You cant really compare this list to Button's.

Button's list is all about how he feels these kids will be as future NHL players, not so much as where he feels they will get drafted. If someone like Merkley is down on his list to 23, he obviously isn't as high on him as ISS as an NHL asset.

I compare all the lists with each other. I find variances in rankings then go digging as to why

To me Zadina has the highest offensive upside of the bunch. I think him and Svechnikov is very close. I'd probably go Dahlin, Zadina, Svech 123

I just explained to you why there is a variance. Button's list is not a mock draft or a predraft ranking. This is and that's why you will see some variance in a lot of guys if you are comparing this list with Buttons.

I said I compare all lists, not just Button's and ISS. (hockeyprospect.com; NHL Central Scouting; Future Considerations; McKeen's; ISS; Button.. etc)

There is variance amongst all of them. And they do so for different reasons than Button.

Tkachuk has taken a total of 18 faceoffs in 20 games this season, so he isn't playing center at college at least. I can't find faceoff stats from USHL so I don't know if he played center there. I don't know how good a center he'd be at the NHL level but most NHL centers played center at lower levels as well.

Zadina, Bouchard, Hayton, Dobson, Merkley, Noel and Rodrigue were some standouts from this list in the CHL Top Prospects game tonight.

Nico Gross, Aidan Dudas and Ty Dellandrea some later picks that looked good.
