Truth be told trade was vetoed. He thought he's was receiving the 2nd rdr. Which makes sense.

Now he's offering me a Kadri for a 2nd rdr 13-17 range.
I have a 1st and 4 x 2nd rdr this year. That's my best 2nd rdr.

I'd counter by giving him the 2nd best 2 round pick you hold in the draft. Phrase it that way if you want.

1. You took too long for his liking to accept the deal, I would guess.

2. He then turned around and made a deal which looks poor. It happens.

Exactly this. Sometimes it's not worth getting to fancy or too clever on a deal.

The deal he made is laughable, really. There is no explaining it.
