Real Deal Holyfield?
Hail, the Forum. Hope everyone's enjoying the holidays/WJCs!
In a keeper cap league guys on ELCs are vital, of course, so what of gents like Butcher or DeBrincat? Everything in me speaks to sell high but I'm fairly tight to the cap anyway and don't really feel I'll get the return I could with the savvy bunch of GMs that comprise my fellow colleagues in the league. I know I've answered my own question here, but I still feel inclined to ask for your expert opinions on the matter/these two players particularly. Much thanks!

If you are competing, I think you HAVE to keep those cheap ELC deals for the full term. The key to winning is value and there is no better value than ELC's that perform like multi-million dollar cap hits. If I owned those two players, I'm holding them tight unless someone offers you a deal that you just can't say no to.

If you are tight to the cap, I am not sure trading them makes any sense. The guys you'd want/get back are going to cost you more and thus putting you in an even worse cap situation.
I agree with The Comish, at this point, I'd hold your ELCs and use them as needed.

Agree with the others. Doesn't mean you can't shop them with a bigger contract to get two bargains, but it'll be tough for you to get value in return for what you're trading away.

In a 30 team cap dynasty league, I'm not sure moving productive ELC's makes sense. I suppose you could always put them on the market to see what's out there? But those contracts are very hard to replace...

Thanks very much everyone for your input, sensible thoughts. I think my own issue (which brought me to post) is that I can be too conservative, and instead of selling high to obtain a more steady asset, I hang on too long and miss that window. I guess I was more curious if you think these guys will keep up (somewhat) their pace, or if they would fall off the map in eventuality (next/few years). Cheers, everyone! Happy New Year

Both players are exceeding my expectations.
That said, I wouldn't trade them based solely on that factor.
Put them on your block and see what kind of interest there is; it's impossible to tell you whether or not to trade them until we see what kind of value you can (or cannot) get back! You lose nothing buy putting "for sale" signs next to their name...
