Correction: Should mention Friedman added to report suggesting Pittsburgh would want a center and a winger in return.

Rationale (not mine) being Penguins won without Letang last year.

Shoot, my fantasy team sure would love to see JVR in the black and yellow. Just can't see Pit finding the cap space for two vets like that. I could more likely see them getting a vet on a bigger contract and a prospect/picks to make the dollars work.

The idea that they can part with Letang because they won without him last year is deeply flawed. I hope that’s not what they are thinking becuase that’s idiotic. And his contract with his injury history.... no f’ing way.

It would depend on if EK was willing to sign an extension. But that aside, probably a lot. Letang is more injury prone and not the same level, though he is definitely up there.

Karlsson can't sign an extension until the summer.

Rumours going around Twitter say Pittsburgh have a deal and are waiting until the trade freeze to lift before announcing it. But no idea if it involves Letang or not.

The most common rumour is Letang to Ottawa and either Brassard or Pageau going back with some other stuff.

I ant see Letang going to Ott if they have any thoughts of resigning Letang. If that happened, I can see EK demanding a trade.

If the Pens were going to eat half his contract, they might as well keep him. The ONLY reason I can see them moving Letang is to shed his cap hit.
