Greiss or Neuvirth - Who is a better 3rd?
Not sure who would be a better add. Greiss looks like he is in a better 1A/1B scenario but Neuvirth could take over the crease if Elliot slips (I guess Greiss could take over as well with Halak's band-aid status). Neither Greiss or Neuvirth have looked great this year, but maybe Neuvirth comes off injury with a new energy. At this point I am considering just flipping a coin but before going that route I thought I would try and get some professional input.

I have Bobs and Vas. I don't NEED a 3rd but I am considering whether I should spend a roster spot on carrying a 3rd or not. There are others out there like Stalock, Dell, Mason, Miller. Why I keyed in on Greiss and Neuvirth is that (as people have mentioned) Greiss will actually get starts and he might turn his game around. Neuvirth is a big question mark coming back from injury and my thought is if he takes the reigns he would be great to have in the playoffs. If he doesn't work out I drop him and continue streaming back-up starts when I need them.Originally Posted by lucafen4

my concern with Griess is that will he will get you a fair amount of wins.. if you count GAA/SVPCT.. you could be punting those in his starts

Thanks for the input everyone. Looks like Greiss is the consensus. Unfortunately his game last night was abysmal which does not bode well for him taking starts away from Halak. Also means he will likely be on the wire for awhile longer so I might wait a bit longer. I would definitely be hurting my GAA and SV% but hopefully Vas and Bobs can keep those in check while Greiss provides volume in Saves with some added Wins.
