Trying to make some deals

[Goal]

My league has been terrible for trying to make trades. So I have been asking what people are looking for and no one wants to trade anyone. But finally got some action today.

Another team is interested in:
P.Kane, Voracek, Schenn.

The other owner has:
Tank, F. Forsberg, Laine, Pietrangelo, JVR


He sent me:
Forsberg, Pietrangelo, Gardiner, JVR, 1st, 3rd

For:
Voracek, Schenn, Muzzin, 2nd and 4th.


Id like to keep schenn, and maybe do Kane and Tank in the trade No JVR. What do you think?

If you think the other guy will substitute Tank or Kane over JVR, then you be tripping. The deal as it is now is relatively even, but I do believe you are giving up more than you are getting. Asking for Tank / Kane will just move the pendulum too far the other way. Maybe you could substitute Tank or Kane for JVR AND Gardiner to make things more likeable for the opposing GM?

My:
Voracek, Muzzin, 4th and 7th.

His:
Forsberg, Gardiner, Pietrangelo 3rd, 6th.

I like it quite a bit. I like Forsberg over Voracek and Petro over muzzin. The picks and Gardiner are a bonus.

My only concern would be that you have to drop someone so not sure who you dumped as it appears your Sig is updated already. Solid deal for you though.

I had just picked up Kyle Connor, so I have dropped him for the time being. Petro is on the IR right now so once hes on my team he will go on the IR and I will figure out what to do with my extra D man

this trade feels big and messy. I've done a couple deals in the past with lots of moving parts, you end up losing value overall. My opinion.. if he wants schenn/vora -- separate smaller deals. this year FF isn't much better, if better than Vora... Schenn's the best player in the deal. I agree Pietrangelo > Muzzin... but JVR's just creates roster confusion & is he better than Connor??

Made it simple. I am not sure what I will do with Gardiner when Pietrangelo comes back from the IR

might just have to drop him ... I missed that updated trade midway through this thread.. Much better deal without schenn involved. in a start 4D, I only like having 1 extra D to roll in.

I like the updated deal. You might be able to move that extra defender right now for something that helps you in a 2 for 1 deal, and grab some d-man off the wire to fill in for your injured player.
