Is there any chance he gets sent down soon? Hes available in my keep all dynasty league but i don't want to waste a roster spot on him if hes gonna stay with the Flyers. We have 1 NA spot that i can use if he gets sent down.

At this point I say it's unlikely he gets sent down. His only hope was being loaned to Canada for the Juniors and then not brought back. I think he's here for good now.

Try looking into someone like Pettersson, Glass, Suzuki, etc.

I highly doubt they're sending him down. He'd have to go to Jr... and I'm not sure they want to do that at this point. With all his injuries, probably what they should have done after 9 games

From a local radio shows in Vancouver today - Ray Ferraro believes he's staying up with the flyers for the season. For whatever that's worth...

I have heard literally nothing about the chances that he's going to be sent to junior.

Since Hextall has said they aren't loaning him to Canada, he's staying in the NHL.

I wish they would have loaned him to Team Canada just for the experience and leadership gained but it is not to be.

I agree, he's here to stay now.

...ya I understand that. But why is that always the answer when these guys don't pan out? Obviously we know how many games he's been in but a player taken that high should be able to adjust quicker than say a guy taken later. I'm not labeling him a bust..not by a long shot .

EDIT: ok, so i guess somebody has to be #2 and its not his fault i suppose if hes teh second best in what was considered a weak draft year. Nico isnt exactly ripping it up either...and he was #1.

to the OP..hes likely here to stay

Philly needs him to be the 2nd line center... Not leaving the team unless he gets hurt again.

But you are labeling him a bust by saying he "didn't pan out" 1/3 of the way through his rookie season. Most guys drafted don't start in the NHL, and stick. He's a #2 center that is not leaned upon for offense right away, and he looks fine doing that. I'm not sure how that isn't turning out just fine from a NHL perspective.

i guess i am to a point. to me theres a BUST (Patrik Stefan/Rick Dipietro) and not living up to draft hype (Yak/Nuge). Yak and Nuge are servicable NHLers yes.... but were drafted as high end talents.

I think at #2 he was the right choice... gotta remember as well, he's missed 65% of the season in his draft year & then had another medical procedure over the summer. I think we'll see him get stronger for the Flyers in the 2nd half.

..is true. theres still ample time for NP to get hot and make me choke on it...thats fine. i will say this, i wouldnt drop him.

but again to the OP hes here to stay IMO, but IF he does get sent down you use that NA spot to grab NP.
