Default Star Wars: The Last Jedi (spoiler free)

Doesn't seem to be as much excitement out there about this....but maybe that's just cuz I've been out of the loop due to an upcoming wedding.

I plan to see it over the holidays and the early reviews are great.

Most reviews I have heard, and there are many, seem to be very positive. There was one lone review I read yesterday that said while the action was great, the story seemed dragged out and that the movie was more akin to "Attack of the Clones" than "Empire Strikes Back". Time will tell once the public has a turn to see it.

Force Awakens was trash. For me, this movie has a lot of pressure to take the story somewhere that brings it together and makes sense.

No I think that was two FF movies ago lol. All I meant was it's not there has been a Jurassic Park or Avengers this year.

I agree. Hated the similarities to A New Hope and really don't like reading reviews that try to sound positive saying "best Star Wars film in decades haha. Force Awakens was ok....the prequels were not ok.

Anyways I'm still excited to see it

I think Star Wars should take a page from Fast & Furious and throw The Rock in there. Nothing turns a franchise around like adding The Rock to your cast. The guy's bringing Jumanji back!

That being said, I hope the Last Jedi improves the villains. The best villain from the Force Awakens was probably that unnamed stromtrooper with a taser-baton.

No, they didn't even give Captain Phasma the taser-baton fight. I don't even think she used a weapon the entire movie.

edit: I meant this guy. I can't believe I said he had no name.

I've been a Star Wars fan since I was 8 years old and saw the very first one back in 1977 at the local drive-in. I am looking forward to this one as much as my two kids.

Sadly I am looking forward to jumanji even though how can you top Williams in the first one!

Yeah early reports for Star Wars is 240mil opening weekend. Which will be good but only on pace or slight behind force awakens. As for this year yea movies are way down across the board. Probably bc it's too expensive to see movies these days. Please I haven't seen a movie in the theaters since avatar!

The only way to come close is to put The Rock in it.
