I have no issues trading Donaldson as long as the return makes sense. I hate trading stars for prospects because prospects are so damn hit and miss in baseball.

But as a Blue Jay fan we should almost be the other way.. three words.... R A Dickey. haha The prospects turned out well for the Mets.

And wow the Marlins are really cleaning house... reports are they are shopping Yelich... I agreed with Eskim Brother that they would keep him... but sounds like they are going to at least see what they can get. Wow.

Syndergaard was the best of that bunch for sure. D'Arnaud has been good but nothing great as he was expected to be. He still misses too many games due to injuries. I had to google who the other players involved were. John Buck and Wuilmer Becerra were the other two players. I am not even sure if Buck is still in the game or not and I have never heard anything about Becerra.

As I say, they are a crapshoot. More prospects miss the mark than hit it.

By JD I meant Martinez because he's the other big fish in the OF. Donaldson is going to have a whole different market.

That would be a solid get for them. Leadoff option too.

Ahh. Anytime someone is talking about the Jays and I see JD, I automatically think of Josh Donaldson.

Yeah, that's my bad, should have specified.
JD being a nickname for Donaldson is somehow one I have avoided. Not sure how, but I just haven't been all that exposed to it, so I guess it doesn't immediately resonate for me.

I don't see the Jays filling all the holes to compete. I can't be the only one thinking they should be selling off any valuable asset over the age of 25 and pulling a Houston Astros... or even Cleveland Indians. We've got the guy to do it.

Watching TSN this morning, Steve Phillips had mentioned that the Jays inquired about Ozuna and the starting price was both Bichette and Guerrero Jr as starting points, and for the Jays, the ending point. He thinks Yelich would cost even more because he's under control longer. Oh well, it was a nice thought.

Marlins got Sandy Alcantara and Magneuris Sierra and two minor-league pitchers for Ozuna.

AKA, not 1 top 100 prospect. But the Cards No6, and No9 prospect. No way do I believe the Jays were fully interested because the No6 prospect in all of baseball alone would have been worth more than what they got.

Source : JT Realmuto has requested a trade from the Marlins.I expect Yelich to follow suit.
